    Lost interest in toy soldiers

I am in collecting for unique pieces and I think I have acquired from diverse TS manufacturers all the ones I like (IOW I never went for the number). For the past 3-4 years I haven't seen any net new NAP range produced that I don't have already or are indeed unique to my own eyes. This is why I...

Here is a picture from my home town: Tours (the old part). As you can see it's pretty close :)

    2020 April Storm Devastation

    "Bonjour!... Chocolat?"

Nice vignette! My parents who were kids during WW2 still remember getting chewing-gum from the GIs in Tours (France). Chewing-gum was something very exotic and typically American for French people back then.

    Corona virus

I would be cautious to listen to these rumors. I follow closely the news in France (I am a French native) as I have aging parents (91 (father) and 83 (mother)) over there and I haven't read anything of such happening. French news are very transparent and politically independent so this would...

    Le Cimier Louis XI couple

Nice vignette! Louis XI's favorite castle (Plessis-Lèz-Tours) is actually located in the town I was born in France (Tours in the Loire valley): https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Château_de_Plessis-lèz-Tours

    Corona virus

Correct on the projection context. Here in Washington State we have been basically doing that since early March as we have been at the epicenter. I do believe that this is the right strategy to limit contagion given that there is still no cure. This is also help prevent overloading our medical...

    metal or resin

I don't really have a preference. What matters to me the most are the details of the sculpt. I have painted metal, resin and hybrid metal/resin TS. Doesn't make a difference to me with painting.

    Mystère en Normandie

Then this is really becoming an international mystery (French, Belgium and Canada) :wink2:

    Mystère en Normandie

Looks good!. Now, I don't think it's a big deal but I have never seen a shop named "Fruiterie" in France. Normally it's either "Fruits" or "Fruits et Légumes". I think this may be a French Canadian term...

    Star Wars finale

Saw it with my younger son over the holidays and we both liked it as well (he has been a Star Wars fan since his early teens). He is also a big fan now of The Mandalorian on Disney channel which is kind of a spin off of Star Wars. Watched a few episodes and it looks pretty good too (Jon Favreau...

    Australia burns.

This is indeed a terrible tragedy for both people and animals (I read somewhere that millions of animals have died so far). My thoughts are with our Australian friends. On our local news today, they announced that Washington State is sending a contingent of our forest firefighters to help.

    Grognard's New Painting Project!

Thanks John! I had done some research like I always do in my books, on the Web, etc. to make sure that I get everything right (this is also the part I enjoyed doing) before painting and the only 54mm version I found was from HM Durandal: http://www.histomin.com/linedur/pgdurnap.htm (Please look...
