Does anyone recognize this set of Native Riflemen in traditional dress

Wade followed the Britains Ltd convention of one officer and seven other ranks in a standard infantry set. Below is a partial scan of the Nostalgia brochure with your guys. They are the third and fourth figures from the left. The brochure only showed the different figure types for each set, and...

    W Britains Scots Grey castings

Hi Victor, I'll say what I can about the figures based on these photos. The horse pose descriptions are the accepted collectors' terms for the poses. Top pic: Nose of trotting horse, two troopers on trotting horses, one trooper on walking horse. The rotting horse was only used for set 32 Scots...

    W Britains Scots Grey castings

Victor, the horse on the right in your picture is in what's referred to as the 'cantering' pose. It was used for the Scots Greys officer starting in 1953. Prior to then, the officer was on the same horse as the troopers, the walking pose, and was distinguished by gold painted uniform details...

    W Britains Scots Grey castings

Hi again, Victor. This site shows a matched 1953 version set 32 with "long-rein" walking horses. Paint style is correct (grey sprayed over white) for the version; box, as noted, is not. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/britains-set-32-royal-scots-greys-2nd-1830596972

    W Britains Scots Grey castings

Hi Victor. Bill Hocker explains how he makes the moveable cavalry arms here: https://wmhocker.com/index.php?s=profile Scroll down to the 1991/92 interview. Yes, those are the 3 Scots Greys horse types - walking, trotting, and cantering. Pre 1953, they were all on the walking horse, the...

Are these Britains Series B Figures

Maybe Hanks? Just found these in a past C&T auction: https://bid.candtauctions.co.uk/m/lot-details/index/catalog/84/lot/26348?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F84%3Fpage%3D5 James Opie does the IDs on toy soldiers for this auction site, so I trust his call. Hanks was one of the main...

    Britains Royal Coach Soldier Pac

The postillions' whips are fine. Britains used two types of arms, whips up and whips down. For their military teams, they'd mix the pose. For some reason, on the State Coach set, it was always all one way or the other. I have pictures of both styles in my Britains image file.

Are these Britains Series B Figures

Try Andrew at Replica Metal Soldiers (https://www.facebook.com/Figures.Replicametalsoldiers). He was doing recasts of B and W series figures for Johnnybach. Andrew's a fellow Treefrogger, but hasn't been on the Forum lately. He posts as Sandhurst39.

Are these Britains Series B Figures

They certainly resemble Britains set B1, as seen here: https://sites.google.com/view/britainsbscalesoldiers/home The plume colour is wrong for the Life Guards, but would be OK for Dragoon Guards. I couldn't find anything in Joplin's Great Book that was close. I would expect them to be marked...

Want Peipp figures to be painted? What to do?

Thanks for making me aware of this company. Marvellous caricature-style sculpts - better than Sanderson's (IMHO), equal to Tim Richards', with the sense of humour of common to both. As far as finding a painter, how about trying a local wargaming group? There are young painters in those clubs...

There's a "public" Facebook group (anyone can see the posts) dedicated to Britains Swoppets that also has a lot of content and info about every other company's version of the idea, especially Timpo's output. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2354232644805641

Is this figure a French Fireman Part of a Set Maker?

It's a Crescent fireman. It should be hollowcast to be an original figure. There's a (typically very overpriced, IMHO) example for sale on the Lilliput World website, in their "Uniform" section. This commercial site is great for detailed, all-angle photos of items that they are selling...
