Thanks for sharing,
I have a Revell A-26B Invader also in 1/48 scale....but have yet not even opened the box, must be 25 years since I built a Plane {eek3}
Cant really ad anything myself as there was just nothing new this year in 54mm plastic that made me want to buy!
The only 54mm plastic I did buy was some Hat Prussian both Napoleonic and SYW....and also picked up some of Hat's older Punic War sets.
And some of the older Italeri sets.
I agree Mitch I think these Monogram kits are rather good,
Baron ok some pics as I go....I don't suffer from AMS and rather glad its just a easy kit to put together like you I did plenty of kits as a kid
And would think nothing of sitting down for a few days and gluing lots of fiddly bits...
Santa left Rommel's Rod under the tree my 1st model kit in years...Should be a fun project and a nice change from painting figures.
Will post some pics.....if it turns out ok.
Best Ancient set...........Italeri Gauls
Best Medieval set...........Conte Normans
Best Vikings set..........Conte Vikings
Best Early musket set: Accurate Rev War Militia
Best Napoleonic set.......Italeri Impress Dragoons
Best WW2 set.......Italeri Winter Russians
Best Colonial...
Warrior I think the Conte Vikings Trump the Marx Vikings....by a long shot ^&grin
But do agree on the Timpo Highlanders the wounded pose is one of the best sculpted figs ever!
My favourites were the Mexican bandits, Cowboys & Indians and 7th Cav,
Wish they were made today my kids would love them swapping parts around ect.......all ways been tempted to start a collection for myself.
Not cheap though they fetch some hefty prices on Ebay.
I would rather Hat just stick to what they are good at.....Horse & Musket and Ancients {Punic Wars}.
There have been countless makers that have done WW2 over the years..the back catalogue of all those makers should give you endless poses
Plus conversions if thats your thing!...and you have CTS...
Its was the 1970's multi coloured figures that made me drool! Britians Deetail and Timpo swoppits .
I had a couple here and there but not as many as I would have liked.
I don't get the interest in these Airfix reissues they are just horrible!.....I picked up one set just to check them out for myself.
I prefer the recast that CTS sells they are more expensive but at least the same quality as the original 70's version's.
Still plenty of these Austrians around can be found on EBAY....I remember a few years back there Austrian 1/72 set was very hard to get and even selling on Ebay for $30 -$40...then about a year later I noticed a lot sellers had them in stock and back to the average price of around $10.
Maybe...
Not far about 25mins away so the past week have been busy cleaning out the gutters and any dry leaves around the yard....and there has been plenty of burnt leaves landing around the place........Parents were lucky as they live at Lithgow and were evacuated with the fire going right up to there...
Vikings was my favourite show of the year.....ep 7 with the raid was best!
Game of Thrones is losing me.........like Marco said to many story lines going on!
Under the Dome..........lost me just getting to loopy and then they bring in new characters?
There has been a few hints dropped on the Britains thread for Vikings/Normans over the years but sadly no "bites"
So the door is wide open for Collector showcase here, I like my Conte collection but I would have liked some with shields held in front.
I like what they did with the TV series...
