I,m suprised that didnt make the news here in NZ , the only person I have sympathy for is the victim in this or any crime .

It apears most of those items did not sell , being a collector I cant say I will be sorry to see any delay in a secoundary market developing. If everything that retires shoots up straight away in price speculators come into play and you find yourself missing out more often on anything that...

I think your last point is spot on , as prices have increased you look at what else that money could buy, and toy soldiers start to take a back seat to other interests. Hopefully the hobby has a big enough collector base to remain vibrant in the coming years.

Really nice additions Paulo , I think the Gordon Highlanders colour party is one of my favourite sets . [one of the first sets I ever bought also].

Thanks Dave , I spoke to David from imperial the other week about it and he mentioned the HS 1 was the bigger seller of the two which may explain why this one doesnt show up too often . I missed one a couple of years back on ebay as a buy it now , so when the email came through from the old toy...

After a long search for this set , I finnaly managed to grab one courtesy of the old toy soldier home . I have been looking for this for a good few years now so was rapt when I got home from work today to see it waiting for me :).

For me a good firing line of these guys is going to be hard to top as far as collecting highlights go for the coming year . A few charging highlanders at some point in the future might give them a run for there money mind you :).

I went a similar route and bought the standard bearers , piper , officer ,drummer and pikeman as a small display . I was realy happy with the first grouping so my focus will remain on building a good group of fighting Gordons before adding some of the more static poses [and currasiers] then...

The new Gordons look great , without wanting to wish my life away :eek: I cant wait until all the fighting poses are available for order , as good as the standing to attention figures are you just cant beat a bit of action :).

My focus has already narrowed over the last year , so for me it will be any vehicles I like in the K and C RAF series [ no other WW2 as I,ve decided not to collect it anymore and have sold off what I had ] FL Gordon highlanders and Cuirrasiers and thats it for me at this point.

I agree for the most part it is certain theatres and vehicles revisited many times , but I cant help but feel their is such a huge gap in the marketplace for conflicts outside ww2 , to me personally with the high quality of painting and sculpting with first legion they just seem to fit with...

I,ve got to admit I would rather see more naps or a venture into the crimea . WW2 just seems so well covered these days .
