John or others, question for you all on the new Stug III for AK. I'm getting it no matter what, but was just curious how much service it saw in North Africa? Thanks.
Holy crap!! I have been out of town for work all week and just saw the new EA and AK releases. Andy told me in March that he would add the jeep to the EA series this year, but this just blows me away. I only collect AK and EA and just love all this new stuff. What a great day. I'm getting...
I love Imperial and am so glad they are back in business -- even if it is only a limited basis. A couple of comments.
1) I agree with Brad. We should have a website or resource like Bill Sager's where we have pictures of all the sets they did. Could we build one? Could we get Treefrog...
I just picked up AK 13 from Treefrog (thanks!), but had a question about the set for the group. It looks mint. On the gunner, his right hand -- the one with the closed fist -- is extended away a bit from the gun. Is that normal? I can't tell from pictures I've seen of AK 13 whether the hand...
I just started collecting K&C this past Feb. I got involved because of the Afrika Korps and Eighth Army stuff. I did study the other lines, but decided to focus on those two (which are exceptional). Fortunately, I have now knocked out all the retired AK sets (with the exception of AK1-9) and...
Louis,
Will your K&C book address what was intended for skipped sets, e.g., AK10, 12, 14-15? Also, will it have some kind of index for when sets were released and retired? Thanks.
DK
I just want to thank Bill Moore and TreeFrog for being so great about pricing on retired K&C items. I've knocked out the retired AK sets (excluding the first nine) and haven't had to make a single Ebay purchase (where I've seen some of the items go for very high prices).
I'm with you. I would love to see more Italians (including the M13/40 tank). AK 18 is a fantastic set and I like the Blackshirts. By the way, does anyone know what the K&C UK site lists AK16 as retired? I thought AK 18 was the only new retirement.
I'm still pretty new to the K&C game. I only collect the AK and EA series (love them both). On the AK tanks (and I assume with the other K&C tanks), I don't understand why there is "gunk" near the tracks around the wheels. I'm sure this has been asked before, but can't that be eliminated with...
I'm interested in studying the Marader III NMA did. The Marader III did see service in North Africa. See page 70 of Rommel's Afrika Korps Tobruk to El Alamein, Osprey Battle Orders. In that book, there is a picture of 4 Marader III's in a desert oasis. Last month, I built Tamiya's Marader...
I'm confused on the Marader III. Is the one in Dark Yellow the Afrika Korps version (seems like it would be since it matches the Desert Tigers)? However, on the Tree Frog site, it lists it as the Normandy version. Can anyone clear this up? Thanks.
Dan
Louis,
Where did you pick up the info Imperial was going back into business? I heard that months ago, but haven't seen anything since. I love King & Country (AK and EA), but got my start with Imperial in the mid-1990's. Great sets. Like you, I have a really nice letter from David, the...
Did I miss something or have King & Country retired any AK sets recently? AK16 is on Ebay right now for over $150 and there is still an hour left in the auction.
I loved this campaign from when I was a kid and built Tamiya models. By chance, I just came across the King & Country AK line earlier this year and in the past few months have purchased almost all of the retired AK sets (except 1-9) and a chunk of the ones still in production. I hope to have...
