    Spring is Here

Hi John and Steve, thanks for your comments. I tried a different kind of uv led resin. Took a bit of time to get the right kind of UV led torch which catalysed the resin. It sets clear and you can only do a little at a time. Anyway, back to sculpting with more varied armatures.... Rgds Victor

Impact of 120 degree heat treatment on metal toy soldiers?

Search on the web. Heat treatment for pests is 55oC or 130oF. The eutectic temp of tin lead solder is 183oC. It should be safe. Rgds Victor.

Well. All I can say is that these are pretty dire castings. Can't be helped I suppose as the left over material was from my Repin Procession piece about 5 years back? Guess I will just plough on with these as armatures anyway.

more wip. The putty takes about 1-2 hrs to harden sufficiently for the nx round of sculpting. I have to work in stages on different areas as I need to hold the fig during sculpting.

Starting to add hands to the figs. The new figs to the left are meant as models. The three to the right will be used for masters. I use a smaller gauge wire for these skinny limbs. The man is turning out to be a pan piper.

I lengthened the right leg of the servile courtier. The leg now rests on the base. I removed the front officer for a better view. The base was painted in oils to simulate my scene.
