Heck, I'm still waiting to see what AIP Civil War cavalry looks like or Union troops in sack coats and greatcoats. Early war WW One Brits and French. Crimean War. Real Franco-Prussian War figures, not blue plastic WW One figures. I hope AIP sticks with and finishes their 1800s lines first...
I picked these up today at the Woburn Show from The Hobby Bunker. The bases needed to be sanded flat and as you can see I didn't get all the parting line flash off yet. The next figures will be in my responce.
Netflix has it in English. Good for the kids and adults (this one) as well. Sort of an animated version of Hope and Glory set in France.

These new figures look great. It looks like you could build good sized forces of the standard shooting and attacking poses from multiple bags of figures.
Can any VN era "buffs" chime in on authenticity of the figures? Even though I lived through seeing these men on TV every night on the news...
I added some All The Kings Men spare head to make them look more like militia. Armies In Plastic poses in the series are kind of stiff and the way they hold their muskets in the firing position is awkward.
My devout wife saw it. She said it was "OK". I listened to two secular Bible scholars discuss the film on a podcast. They enjoyed dissecting where the film makers got their sources.
As shown in the photos below , you can set up two ranks firing with the rear rank man stepping over as in the manuals. The poses are a bit exaggerated but an improvement.
