got the stern lower deck in place as well now...as for the upper deck i have made it the same length as the lower one... but i might shorten it to follow the contour of the engine room crew cabin, because i need to build some sort of staircase back there too...one thought i had was to put...

still not sure about these paddles, so i`ve posted 2 pics one with paddleboxes 1 without, while i`m at it i am stuck between two funnels, i prefer the black thin one.... but the white broader one keeps nagging at me..

Plumped for this style of wheelhouse...quite a bit more detail work to do yet.. and quite a few rough egdes to sort out but i think it will be nice looking when done

wheelhouse cabin, crew & boiler room portholes, handrails and doors fitted..started to jazz up the paddleboxes a little, and had the steam boiler fitted....good news with this freezing cold weather we`re having. bbrrrr.

thanks for that mike... i am having alittle trouble with the wheelhouse ..i am tempted to put it up on a third level... i think it may be too much

Re: Paddleboxes go where? amidships to the fore or to the rear, mine look better slightly to the rear, i dont know if this is correct and if it would have an adverse affect on the steering of the vessel...what the hell ..its a static model!

after a couple of weeks away from the garage i`ve had another play around with the nile boat, a rough built lower wheelhouse cabin...in what i think is roughly the right place, rough engine house and rounded crew cabin to the rear ...then a roughly made paddlebox, this model is begining to sound...

side or stern paddle or screw ? any suggestions, the plan is to round off the backend thats why it is just a blank piece of wood at the mo, to make it screw powered, but i was going to make two removeable side paddle boxes to fit if i preferred, the upper deck will have a wheelhouse smokestack...

set off with a flourish building my long self promised nile gunboat, i was not too sure if i should build it as a stern or side paddle boat, i still dont know which way to go ..and it doesnt look too much like a gun boat either, so i`ll keep building and see what comes out, whatever happens it...
