What are the Forum members reading

Just finished "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow. This is the best biography I have ever read. I didn't know anything about Hamilton before reading this but am an admirer warts and all after reading. A great but flawed character (like most of the founding fathers) who came to a tragic but...

    Napolean Total WAR

I am keen to give this is go. I haven't played Empire yet but I read some negative online reviews. Which is a shame as it is my favourite historical period. For Napoleon what chip is required?

best rock band from the U.K.

For the 60s you can't beat the Stones, Beatles, Who, Pink Floyd and Led Zep. I don't really dig the 70s at all. As for the 80s I think The Smiths were outstanding. In the 90s Blur, Oasis, Supergrass, Radiohead are pretty notable. In the last 10 years I must be getting old as I don't pay so much...

    New AWI British Generals

Yes these are great. They are on my wish list. I will be buying the kit. I hope Tradition take on the American Revolution and put out a few more sets.

    The Beatles

I don't have the budget to buy the re-masters but would be keen for a listen sometime. I don't think I am telling any Beatles fans anything new when I say they really are something special. I wasn't even alive when they put out their last album but their music never bores me and always inspires...

These are really impressive. I really admire your clean paint work. Someday I would like to have a go with the French.

    Get in there england!!!!!!!!!!!!

Almost any given day I would back the Aussies as they are consistently the best. However it is nice to see the Ashes change hands from time to time otherwise it becomes a bit of a bore. Well done England. Aussie will be back.

Gee I went to bed and Aussie were steaming along without loss. I wake up and find they were all out for 160.

    Favorite rock/pop bands

Most 60s rock but especially The Beatles, Stones, Led Zep, The Who, Beach Boys and The Doors.

    Most Depressing Songs

I am crazy about The Beatles, Stones and most 60s rock. Generally non-depressing though.

    Most Depressing Songs

I don't know if I can single out a song but English band The Smiths put out some pretty depressing music in the 80s. From time to time I have heard some pretty un-encouraging metal music with titles such as "Live to Die". I think a lot of hip-hop is pretty negative too.

    Family Interests in Hobby?

Although my wife thinks my hobby is totally odd she enjoys painting figures with me. She also takes great pride in her finished job.

    Tradition Kits

I have been working on the next set - the artillery (along with my wife) and took Brad's advice and bent the figures so they would stand correctly. I also did this to the 2 we had already painted with no problems. Initially I was worried I would just snap them but found the metal quite flexible...

    Just curious....buying habits

Since the US dollar strengthed late last year I haven't bought one pre-painted figure. I have bought kits and done them myself. With postage included I can't justify spending close to 50 NZD per figure. They don't look as good after I have had my way with them but it sure is fun not to mention...

    Why We Love Britain's!

To me they just kind of have class. I am new to the hobby and went in via my interest in history. When I first saw them I was blown away. Not only the figures but the tradition behind the name counts. I knew of Britains as a youngster from the detail range and even with them they were better...

Does anyone collect Britain's figures other than Zulu's?

I think there are hundreds of non-ZW WB threads but I guess as far as WB fans go the ZW one's are obviously the most fanatical.

Does anyone collect Britain's figures other than Zulu's?

I am a fan of most of what WB do but to tell the truth I don't really understand the fascination with the Zulu series as fine as they are. Personally I love the intricate detail of the 18th century and early 19th century. I find it a bit bizarre that when you look at the matt forum 9/10 it is...
