China 1899-1901 (Boxer Rebellion) - Yangtze River

I've added Chinese Boxers to the diorama. In these scenes the Boxers are approaching a US base but confronted by US Navy sailors; are preparing to ambush a French patrol boat; and finally seeing a US Navy patrol boat coming in at flank speed to fend off the ambush. The Chinese boxers are "Armies...

Straight off the Work Bench.... my First ACW.... Conte's

You are correct the TSSD figures are great for detail, but the soft plastic can lead to paint flaking; for that reason I finish off the figures with Krylon Matte Finish #1311 spray (dries in minutes). The TSSD figures I've purchased for painting are their Romans, Barbarians, and Union in Great...

Some changes for Civil War figures

Would like to see unharnessed horses for the limbers, that can be shown tided up away from the gun batteries. Also like to see limbers alone (without figures) that can be placed near the Union and Confederate guns and teams produced over the years. Supply wagons with and without horses would...

Straight off the Work Bench.... my First ACW.... Conte's

Really nice job on these plastic Conte figures. May I make some suggestions for the next batch? Try Vallejo paints: Grey Blue #70.943 for the pants, and Oxford Blue #70.807 for the coats and hats. After painting the faces and hair, try adding a Wash with a soft brush over the face, hair and...

Here is an interesting Chess set called Waterloo: Wellington needs to move over a spot.

    VERY Vintage ID Needed

Figure appears to be by A. Fry, who traded as the Erecto Toy Company between 1915 and 1922 and was considered one of the imitators of William Britain. He produced "action" figures and this one looks like the one shown on page 125 (top row of figures shown, second from right) in "The Great Book...

China 1899-1901 (Boxer Rebellion) - Yangtze River

I can not take credit for the scratch built boat. I bought it at a show many years ago. It fits in perfectly with this diorama. Most of the scratch built items that I made over the years are buildings, forts, and siege equipment.

    Tragedy at the Boston Marathon

PS. Believe the explosion at the JFK Library is unrelated, and was an electrical transformer explosion. This is insanity, and I pray for those that have been harmed and families affected by this tragedy.

Really appreciate accepting my friendship request. Moved from UK back to US in 1981 (lived there from 1972 - 81). Missed old England, but visited a few times since on business and pleasure. Learned a lot from viewing your dioramas. PS. Wife's ancestors came over on the Mayflower, and were one of...
