Yes, a great price! I have the last set but aside from the horn-blower, these are very different poses.
What I'm REALLY keen on is more Celts! Thomas Gunn has their own Celts coming, I'd love to see CS get another wave out first.
I'm hearing very good things about this range. I'm very keen to know who the opponents will be - has anyone heard any hints? I've always seen Romans as the perfect line. You could sell three or four enemy lines to go with them.
Wasn't the greater issue that he made stuff up about 'his' family history? I loved that book and was stunned to find later that is was a bit of a hoax.
'I doubt whether Alda voted republican all that often!'
I remember him being interviewed about his role as a Republican candidate in The West Wing. Asked how/if he could do that, he replied "I've played a criminal, a murderer so I think I can do a Republican too." (well along those lines),
He did make some good music but he had a penchant for sexually explicit lyrics. So much so, that I was very surprised to read he was a devout Jehovahs Witness. I wonder if anyone ever had him knock on their door at the weekend offering copies of The Watchtower?
"Doing a remake of this is like doing a new Zulu movie."
I don't think there'll ever be movies made like that again. Modern sensitivities and tastes, which equate to $$$ wouldn't allow the goodies v baddies simplicity (and often accuracy) of the past. You can get away with it maybe with Nazies...

I see the new one is much more politically correct regarding the casting. Fair enough. I hope it goes great so that more Westerns will get made.
I thought it was more than a co-incidence that when I noted his website had had no updates for a year, one followed a few days later. Being bumped off the main page seems to have had an impact too.
Whatever, I hope he reads this. I'm keen to buy Conte product and I really hope that it does come...
I read the Charles Whiting (I think?) bio on Skorzeny but it was basically a piece of hero worship focused on his combat career. It barely touched on post-war stuff but had no mention of working with the Israelies. I saw a doco once that put it that Skorzeny had an affair with that Argentinan...
There were about a dozen panthers/Jagdpanthers made after the war under Allied supervision. They were used for various tests. There were enough survivors and captured examples for the French to have an armoured regiment (or two?) into the 1950s.
Given that so many companies are American now, it's great to be reminded of how great Airfix were at producing their own - British - forces. Commandos, Airborne, 8th Army, reg inf and inf support.
Well done that company!
