W.Britain Event this Saturday at the Toy Soldier Shoppe, Greenfield, WI

Home for me is less than an hour from the Milwaukee area, but I'm in Texas now. Shucks. Hopefully I'll be able to catch a Britains event in the Midwest sometime in the future.

    Seaman Ainsley's demise

When you pose him by himself like that, you can almost imagine him doing a "bring it on" gesture with his left hand. :)

    Massive Unpainted Napoleonic Battle

Amazing set-up, Cole! I remember a very similar set of photos posted on the Classic Toy Soldiers diorama page. Were those yours as well? http://classictoysoldiers.com/d_photos.htm (I doubt there is more than one Cole staging massive 54mm Napoleonic battles ;) )

Upcoming figures in the Treefrog Upcoming Britains page,

This might be the most excited I've ever been over a series of new Britains releases. So many unique, useful, and versatile figures, especially the officers. I'm sure we'll be seeing some great new staff dioramas. Our cup truly runneth over!

    Paragon Alamo

I'd still like to see someone produce at least one more big, well-rounded Alamo defenders set before companies take a break from the period. Maybe 8-10 poses (or more), "standard" action poses (firing, loading, etc) to balance out the hand-to-hand releases, and ideally all in civilian dress...

    ACW - Henry Heth's Nemisis

With all those Rebs coming, that group of Union cavalry now has a kind of Fort Apache feel!

    "Is This Good Ground, General?"

Absolutely incredible! Also, I know some accounts suggests that Gen. Meade was pretty anxious during these councils of war, but I see here that he is truly beside himself! :wink2:

    The American Civil War Diaries

You nailed the Troiani painting! That is truly a "great mingled mass of men." Extraordinary!

    Britains ACW releases for 2014

Ditto to lancer's picks. I also found Eyewitnesses at the Battle of Franklin (ed. David Logsdon) very helpful. It's a collection of first person accounts. http://www.midtneyewitnesses.com/eyewitness-book-series There is a forthcoming anthology on Franklin-Nashville in Steven Woodworth's "Civil...

    Britains ACW releases for 2014

I was doing some research on Franklin early last year, and reading about the hand-to-hand fighting for the Union guns near the breach really made we want to get the new "Home Run" set. At least one Union gun crew fought back with shovels and picks. One artilleryman even killed an attacking...

    Britains ACW releases for 2014

For my very first post on the forum, I was originally going to introduce myself in the new members section, but this thread has me excited enough to jump in right now. (And besides, the Britains section is one of the areas I spend much of my forum time) :) Actually, I'm seconding what many of...
