    F&IW New York Provincials

Simply Outstanding - no drop in the quality of the painting on the repaint when compared to the original!!! From the same Osprey volume, I would love to see the same figure painted as Plate G1 (Officer, New York Provincial Regiment, 1758). I would even be tempted to paint the gaiters black...

    Here they come.

Absolutely wonderful work. I am guessing that you deliberately built the building as a wreck, as opposed to wrecking a completed building. I have an idea for the source of most materials, but the source for the windows alludes me. Are the windows scratch built or something else? Thanks

    Last stand on the Monongahela

I am also reading Preston's new book on the Battle of Monongahela, it was published last week. Very enjoyable and distinctive new thoughts on the battle. Preston does not treat the battle as a simple meeting engagement with two columns randomly bumping into one another. Braddock's strengths...

New Releases For July 2015 -- The Eighteenth Century Collection

War Canoe or Maitre Canot (Master Canoe) (Montreal Canoe) = 30 - 40 foot long, so 12 - 16 inches at our scale. Beam 2.5 inches (6 foot). Prefer a 14-16 inch length. Room for 12 figures, but I would be happy at 10. From Wikki: In the North American fur trade the Hudson's Bay Company's...

New Releases For July 2015 -- The Eighteenth Century Collection

Definite as well on the canoe set, but was really hoping for a much much larger war canoe. John released 1 or 2 sets of figures for a war canoe a few months ago, but no war canoe yet. Thinking it is just a matter of time. Time to do some research!!!

    Last stand on the Monongahela

The clergyman, Philip Hughes survived. He was the chaplain for the 44th regiment. It is thought he saved the King's Color from the 44th and the Regimental Colors for the 48th. Hughes is listed in several of the battle rolls, but not in the most famous or accessible history, Sargents...

    Last stand on the Monongahela

Excellent scene and very good use of the figures. Excellent Photography - very impressive Depth of Field. Yes, on clergy being at Monongahela. From Braddock at the Monongahela, page 203. Philip Hughes correspondence, printed in The Public Advertiser, October 31, 1755. "I believe I am the...

    JJD Whaleboat....how big is it?

On mine and with oars, the width is very close to 9 inches, but could be less if you have the figures "grab" lower on the oars.
