I Have An Idea What Right Size Is

You know, you are absolutely correct. The Flak 36 was 5.791 meters long. Now divide 579.1mm by 30 and the barrel should be 19.3mm in 1:30 scale. I measured the figure that goes with the model at 60mm (somewhat bent over holding a shell) and...you guessed it, the barrel is approximately 19...

Have no idea what right size is anymore!

Precisely. In fact, it is a simple division problem to determine exact scale. If we use 6 feet as the basis for determining the scale, we find that 60mm is the standard for 1:30 (rounded). Therefore, a soldier six feet tall would be approximately 1,800mm (1,828.8). Now just divide the height...

Of course, I'm not sure of the implications for the massive MP40. Perhaps the bigger guys carried bigger variants...LOL. ^&grin

Have no idea what right size is anymore!

Have no idea what right size is anymore!

At just under 4" high, the new Stuart is approximately 1:24 scale. (90.5"/24=3.7")

Have no idea what right size is anymore!

So, for all these years, I have believed the K&C M5A1 was undersized. It actually appears to be a spot on 1:30 scale model.

Have no idea what right size is anymore!

If I were king of the forest, I would use a simple formula for my vehicles. According to Peter Chamberlain and Chris Ellis in their book, British and American Tanks of World War Two, the M5A1 Light tank is 14' 2.75" long; 7' 4.5" wide and 7' 6.5" high. Convert each of those dimensions to...
