Could we call Dark Knight a remake of Batman with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson? If its a yes then Dark Knight kicked the livin daylights out of its predecessor.
Im drivin through Jacksonville on my way home from Savannah in 9 days. I guess Ill have to see if I can stop in. If I drop your name Ron do I get a discount?
God Bless Tim Howard. He was under siege so much of the game. A really gutsy performance on his part. As a Man United fan since I was 9 Im disappointed we didnt keep him around to replace Vandersar. Hes a quite bit better than our current backups.
Anyways,
BRING ON BRAZIL! GO USA!
Whats the reason behind the British Army not having Royal in front of Army like the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Royal Marines? Does it have something to do with the English Civil War/ Oliver Cromwell?
I have to be honest, Bruce Catton's trilogy has sat on my grandfather's shelves for years and for whatever reason I have yet to pick them up and read them. I think when I visit this summer I will need to rectify that.
For cavalry Ill concur with Forrest.
Infantry is sort of a toss up, weve had a bunch of good ones. Jackson for sure gets a mention but how about Terry Allen with the 1st Infantry in WWII? I could even throw Patrick Cleburne in here because his record was quite exemplary as a division commander...
I wouldnt mind if in your next chapter you started to re-write history. Rebel sharpshooters take out Grant and Sherman is rushed to Virginia. Unfortunately his ship is lost in a storm. The Union Army falls into chaos as Lincoln cant find a suitable replacement. Southern spirits soar and Lee...
John,
Could this be a trap to lure us in? I jest.
Im jealous that youve been there. Ive been to some of the Great Virginian homes and would love to see some others formerly belonging to Great Americans.
Im only up to the invasion of Sicily but its pretty interesting so far. Bradley has some weird things he does as a writer that makes you have to re-read some sentences to catch his meaning. But overall its a great narrative of his experiences.
If youve seen the movie Patton youve almost read...
I would also add that from my (medium amount of) research on Patton that he was extremely lucky to have the quality staff that he did. I think he was great at seeing the combat side of the battlefield but when it came to logistics he was utterly hopeless it seems. Thank goodness he had guys like...
All of that makes sense, thank you for sharing Louis. I didnt realize how much of a say Patton had in the production of the Pershing tank. Obviously he was a little slow on the up take on the uses of tanks against tanks.
