Looking forward to seeing your pics of the diorama, but could you maybe also post a new thread on SHOWS & SHOW REPORTS so that others can see what we have 'down under at our only Toy Soldier Show? I'll have to get back over the Adelaide at Easter to check it out one year, and inspect you new...

    Before the Battle, 1756-63

Wolfgang, WOW, what a brilliant set of books, I'd love to see them, but alas I suppose they are no longer around. The best books for the era I have are the pair by Dorn and Engelmann 'The Infantry Regiments of Frederik the Great' and 'The Cavalry Regiments of Frederik the Great' but they are...

    Baden-Powel

I painted these 2 figures for a local collector, and they are supposed to be Col Robert Baden Powell in South Africa. I think that someone has done conversion and then a recast of a Stadden figure on the left but I don't know about the one on the right. I pained them to look like BP and so...

Bob, great to see the figures all setup in your diorama, keep up the great work and post more for us to see. I have painted the set of Hecker & Goros 40th Regt Fusiliers and your 'shouting sergeant' is seen here in the centre. John

    Who made these castings?

I think you have found the maker, well done !!! Yes, the square base, the same coding for the kits, SP-*** and the way that the arms is attached is the same as my figures. No, there was no box with mine, they came in a clear plastic zip-lock bag, but the instructions confirm the identification...

    Who made these castings?

I recently bought these 3 figures as castings from an intestate seller in Australia. They came with painting instructions, but they have no maker's identification on that, nor on the casting, so can anyone identify the maker? L - R SP-185 British 1st Foot Guards grenadier 1776 SP-160 General...

Yes that keeps busy as well as the 'load of lead' you sent me year or 3 ago, but I'm slowly assembling and painting and posting them over. That will keep be busy for another couple of years so don't send any more until they are done !!!!! John

    A fond farewell.

Robin, I'm so glad that I got to spend a morning with you late last year to see the collection, and even then, it was being reduced from the former glory. I sure hope you will still have a suitable sized room/shed for your favourites, and next time I'm over, I hope to 'inspect the troops'...

    Russian Line Drummer 1786-1796

I have also noticed that Speira Miniatures who print 3D figures, also has a Potemkin drummer and he has wide trousers with Hessian boots! I've been getting some of thhier figures printed at 1:30, and most are quite good, easy to paint and great value too. John
