    The Unknown Rifleman

I'm sure quite a few forum members have owned a set of the Tim Mee "M-16" U.S. infantry figures that were all the rage in the '70s and '80s. I fondly recall waging crude dice-driven war games with several dozen at a time. Recently I found out that the original sets included a marching soldier...

What to populate your Dickens Village with

I've inherited my aunt's Department 56 Dickens Village and my wife and I can't stand the fact that the figures are our of scale with the houses - they are ridiculously big. I've heard that the houses roughly fall somewhere in the vicinity of 1/48th scale. Was wondering if anyone knew of...

    Star Wars Plastics?

I can see an Apes playset doing great even today. And I remember the space opera sets!

    Star Wars Plastics?

Perhaps we will see more offerings (and hopefully more poses!) when the new movies come out. And I do remember that cantina set - there was also one of Jabba's throne room.

    Britains Khaki Infantry 1/72 Scale

I'm thinking these may be the downscaled Britains paras that A Call to Arms was working on.

    Star Wars Plastics?

I really like the Command figures - great sculpting, although it would be nice to have more poses. Think it would have been great for Airfix or someone to offer up some sets back in the day - imagine a cantina diorama and a Hoth set!

    Star Wars Plastics?

Mom and Dad came up last night and surprised me with a batch of my original Star Wars figures, dug out of deep storage. It got me to thinking - as plastics were enjoying significant popularity in the '70s, where there ever any plans to release unpainted figures in perhaps 1/35 or 1/32 scale?

    54 mm Saxon Knight

Thanks for the info - I'm new to the period and haven't worked a lot with metal figs, so I know next to nothing about who's producing what.

    54 mm Saxon Knight

Painted up this 14th-century German over the last few days. It's from Tin Warriors and features great detail. They've got an extensive line and are well priced. Most of the figures are from the Middle Ages, but they are starting to produce modern stuff and have several Napoleonics as well.

    Kname That Knight

Just happened to go onto eBay and do a search and found it - Louis de Nevers, count of Flanders. It's Ukrainian, and wonderfully cast. I just finished up a Saxon from the same company - will be posting it soon.

    Kname That Knight

A few years ago I found some great 1/32 scale tin figures online and ordered a couple of knights. The one pictured below is modeled on an actual individual. Yesterday I decided to paint this fellow, but I can't recall his name and am unable to find a picture of what his outfit would have...

    Re-cast police figures

Best thing I can think of is to modify some of the old Airfix football figures - they're more modern with the t-shirts and shorts. Perfect if you want to create a football hooligan vs police diorama! I'm taking the TimMee figures and pitting them against my Gentle Giant Walking Dead horde...

Thanks for the link, Mirof - had an issue with my connection last night and couldn't get a pic up.

    Re-cast police figures

Was on Amazon today and found that TimMee has released a set titled Black Helicopter Strikeforce that not only includes two retro choppers but - best of all - the SWAT-style police figures that were originally offered in the '60s. The detail looks just as good as it was with the originals.
