    Old Testor's Color

Does anyone remember the name (or number) of a very dark green enamel that Testors once put out in their 1/4 oz bottles? I remember working on an old Marx figure with it some time in the early 90's. It was almost black it was so dark. Don't know if it was reincarnated as a Model Master color...

    This Late Unpleasantness

That's the one. The light beige is a bit too pink. I just spotted sand beige at the store (never saw this before), but it seems like it would make the skin look a little too pale (although it might be good for casualties).

    coolest medic team ever!!

I've got that somewhere, minus the stretcher rider. And I just bought my son a bagged dimestore paramedic set that had a decent clone of it done in white.

    WW II German Uniform/Gear Site

http://www.mp44.nl/ Just stumbled upon this site - great for painters. When you click each item it links you to a page that gives an in-depth description of the piece as well as when and where it was used.

    Undead Confederates..by MARX!

Wow! great execution! That pose really fits the shambling, slumped "zombie walk" perfectly! What did you use to do the shadowing with?

    This Late Unpleasantness

Thanks! I use the basic Testors's flat tan for the skin base, then sparingly work in some Citadel Badab Black wash for the shadows on eyes and mouths and under noses. For a few of the cheeks I lightly brushed a little of the bright Model Master skin tone highlight.

    Your first figure

I would have loved to work on some of those big Airfix kits!

    Your first figure

Do you remember the first figure you painted? Mine was the standing soldier in Tamiya's Wehrmacht mounted infantry set. Went together well and painted up nicely, but unfortunately I broke him during a move (although he's still around in a box somewhere).

    Windy City stores?

Thanks! I'd love to make my way up north for a short trip centered around some stores - we are really lacking down south, unfortunately.

    New Hat 1/32

Those ATCA French are decent, but the faces aren't the best. A lot of them are light on the features, and I swear one guy looks like he's biting his lip (probably a realistic trait, but it just looks awkward). You may be able to get some decent Airfix clones somewhere online.

    Windy City stores?

I'm going to be up in Chicago next week and was wondering if there were any shops in or around the city that carried any plastic figures.

    British Foot Artillery

Thanks! For now I'm keeping to small scenes so they will be easy to place. Which figures are you using?

    British Foot Artillery

Although I've been painting for a while, I've done very few dioramas - most of which are fairly slapdash pieces assembled in my youth. I avoided them mainly due to lack of space, but now that I have a room I can fill (with spousal approval) I decided to kick things off with a gun crew...
