    2016 standard & spring catalogue - out

Just had a closer look at the 2016 Spring & Stock catalogue. In the introduction there is the following statement: "While many new figures accessories and vehicles are currently in development for all of our ranges, with this issue we have decided to publish only the items currently in stock...

VEH017 Winter PzKpw IV Ausf F2 with Long Barrel 75mm and Winterketten

I know that very briefly some King Tigers were attached to Panzer Lehr, but none carried Panzer Lehr divisional markings and all were abandoned or blown up - none saw service with the division. The only Porsche King Tigers in Normandy were serving with the Heer's 503 Heavy Tank Battalion.

    British Paratroopers - Sneak Peek

A release date of 6th June would be good and appropriate!

    British Paratroopers - Sneak Peek

I should have said Sten Mk V which was used in Normandy.

    British Paratroopers - Sneak Peek

These look great - the Denison smocks in particular. A Sten Mk IV might have been a bit more appropriate but we can live with that. Look forward to future figures perhaps some wearing berets. Also some support weapons such as a PIAT and a Bren Gunner but please let it be accurate not like the...

FiIRST STANDARD OF 2016 & SPRING CATALOGUE

I'm afraid I may have raised expectations with my first entry to this thread, for which I apologise. However I was only passing on what I had been told by a Britains rep at the London Toy Soldier Show. However, as nobody has received anything, perhaps she was perhaps being somewhat...

    37 Man Barge...

I don't collect any of John Jenkins ranges but his Siege of Quebec landing barge has got to be one of, if not THE, finest "collectors toy soldiers" model that has been produced for many, many years. Well done John Jenkins!

    “The Retreat”

Great diorama. Just one point to clarify things. After Dunkirk there were still thousands of British troops still fighting in France many of whom were eventually to be evacuated from the French Biscay ports.

London Toy Soldier Show Apr 2016 Images

An enjoyable day but nothing particular new from the major "players". Both numbers of dealers and attendees down and everything was winding down by 3 o'clock. I think more and more visitors and dealers are concentrating their efforts on the December show.

    A W.Britains WWII Classic (R. Walker/ K. Osen) M8 Greyhound #17823 (w/ 3 figures)

That range of Normandy figures by Britains was a great little collection with the Greyhound for the US and a similarly repainted Steyr truck and PaK for the Germans. US Infantry and airborne, German Paras and Waffen SS. Pity it petered out.

Who Made the 1st 1/30 Polystone Armor

If one is tracing the development of 1/32 and 1/30 "Toy Soldier" armour - don't forget one of the first in the field - Britains Centurion tank ( in either green or sand) produced back in 1965.

    DAK032-DAK037 British 8th Army Infantry

8th Army in the main wore shorts in the desert, although some units preferred long trousers. Shorts were worn in Sicily but in Italy most troops tended to wear long trousers

    My FL and FOV

Early (Jan-Feb) last year. On one of the die-cast forums this was posted "According to a post on the Diecast Hangar Pub forum, a prominent UK distributor is indicating that Unimax, the makers of the Forces of Valor range of military vehicles, aircraft and warships, are throwing in the towel and...
