Mike was one of the greats in the U.S. toy soldier hobby. I bought items from his store on multiple occasions. Although I live in the same state, I never got the opportunity to go up and visit their shop… Hopefully the business will be able to continue with his passing.
What a big and beautiful model, marcou! The camouflage is particularly well done. Did you take advantage of TGM’s sale on the warbirds? Either way, it’s a great addition to your collection for sure.
Great looking display, Wayne! I like your use of the War Park figures in your tank as well.
I was intent on using the First Legion TC012 Normandy Heer tank crew figures, but while the commander fit perfectly in his hatch, it was tricky to fit the other figure in the loader’s hatch. The “Porsche...
I just received the new JJD “Porsche Turret” l Tiger tank (GA-54) model and it’s a beauty! As usual John has delivered a first rate annd accurate model. Personally, I love the addition of the zimmerit paste!
My display is based on historical photos of this tank sitting abandoned amongst some...
I don’t have a K&C M10; however, based on experience with other K&C AFVs that I do have, it seems that K&C makes their vehicles in 1/30 scale while their figures are larger at around 1/28 scale. It’s likely the K&C figures would look the same next to the FL model as the K&C model, if that makes...
Julie does have pics of the actual model on her product listing as well.
Anyways, here are some pics of my First Legion OH-6 that I posted a couple months ago:
EDIT: I misidentified the vehicle type in my previous post. John’s previous Panzer I models have all been the Ausf. A variant; the DAK Ausf. B model is a new tooling!
Very nice! These models look beautiful!
However, while a part of me is thinking “jeeze, not another Panzer I from John,” I think I’ll still get the DAK Panzer IA version given the other JJD Panzer Is in my collection are all the B variant.
Neat idea, Hadrian!
A couple decades ago I did some photography of displays with 1/18 scale 21st Century Toys German figures and vehicles in real snow up in the mountains in California, but haven’t yet seen it down with the 1/30 scale figures.
Yeah, the trees and bushes are JG Miniatures products; however, the new Sheffield Miniatures products should be pretty similar. Personally, I like how they do their pine trees as they look more realistic than the conical “Christmas Tree” type firs other manufacturers make.
Thank you all for the kind compliments on my display! However, it wouldn’t look half as good were it not for the excellent work done by First Legion on their M10 and figures as well as the winter foliage from JG Miniatures (they make the best pine trees!)
