Years ago, my son was in the Sea Cadets and enjoyed being in the color guard so I asked Ed Burley to make a set for him. I also included a Navy officer and an Army Sergeant (representing myself) as observers..
Can you spot the error in the Color Guard configuration?

No, of course a bombed German City is NOT Nazi glorification.. I wish you enjoy whatever you like.
Seems your family background is in some ways similar to my own. Happens that as a child I lived in a bombed German city - I still can remember blocks & blocks of rubble.
The difference between...
Yes, sure I'm aware of what is displayed here and I've posted regarding my discomfort at seeing what I consider the glorification of Nazis.
Of course people are free to post what they like.. Just like the cartoons of Mohammed..
My primary point was that one shouldn't be acting all surprised &...
I totally understand - there is no denying that German uniforms and equipment were good looking and well executed..
However given the history, there's no doubt that displaying these publically would bring on negative reaction. It's not at all "weird"; it's normal and you could bet on it.

just seems to make more sense..
Just received my Imperial Crimean War Don Cossack Lancers..
(almost returned them as they couldn't stand due to being bent up as result of most awful wrapping & packing)

I was referring only to Paulus' 6th Army.
Their operation began in summer and they were issued no winter gear (other than standard greatcoats & wool gloves) according to some accounts of the battle.
* and according to others, there was a drive to collect CIVILIAN winter clothing in Germany and...
Officers often had custom made articles not available to the rank & file.
There is also evidence here and there of "Field Made" snow camouflage items.
And there's always the opportunity to strip a Russian corpse.
........ Perhaps all the guys in the dio got lucky
I'm not an "expert" either. But I've seen quite a few pictures and films taken at Stalingrad over many years.
(It's a great story of personal interest to me; the turning point of the Eastern front).
Never have I seen a picture of a German soldier, at Stalingrad, wearing snow camouflage.
Since...
