Thanks for the likes and kind messages!
The diorama was inspired by the following video of the 1903 Durbar which shows the elephant procession passing in front of a row of pavilions.
The moving display is on a conveyor belt. The total length is 1.8 meters so the full length of the procession...
Thank you for sharing. That’s a great collection of WM Hocker figures! WM Hocker made some excellent Delhi Durbar sets. Here’s a video of my Durbar diorama featuring two WM Hocker elephants at the end of the video. Best wishes, TheDurbarMan
Hi All
I have always admired the dioramas posted by fellow collectors in this thread. I have created a special diorama of my Delhi Durbar figures which I hope you all will enjoy. Please see link below.

Hi, these are great figures!
The child belongs to set D69 “The Ayah and the Peacock”. There should be a lady carrying a parasol and a peacock that go with this set.
The barber set is not one I have previously seen in any catalogue.
It would be great to see photos of the other sets you...
Hi All
After nearly 30 years of collecting I finally realized my dream to bring the Delhi Durbar 1903 to life! Please have a look at the video of my new Durbar diorama!

Just wanted to add the 6 camel set I acquired was advertised as “The Pride of Bikaner’s Army”. I believe the 4 camel set may have been sold to me as Hyderabad Camel Artillery. Not sure which if either is correct!
Hi I also have a 6 camel version and a 4 camel version, both sets have the cannon. I did ask on the forum when I purchased it if anyone had come across a 6 camel version before and it was suggested that it was a special order. If you also have a 6 camel version then I guess we can assume it was...
Hi Tom, thanks for sharing that information.
I have many of the Silk Route figures too. It’s a great series. I was not aware of the Dragon Bridge as I have not seen it referred to in any list of Silk Route sets before. Do you have a photo of it that you could sure?
I was also not aware of the...
Hi Tom, I hope you manage to find it. I do not know how many of this set were made but I expect it is rare. I am intrigued by the version you do own, is it made of parts of the original or is it a reproduction?
Best wishes
Hi Tom,
Thank you so much for the history of the facades and the tip to locate the catalogue. Very helpful and very much appreciated!!!
I had always assumed that the lighter plastic versions followed the heavier plaster versions so it is most interesting to learn it was the other way around...
My pleasure. Always nice to find someone new who collects Marlborough figures. I focus mainly on the Durbar, what do you collect? I hadn’t noticed the rolls of cloth until you mentioned them. Sounds like a good idea to add the figures you mentioned. Would be great to see how your display turns out.
Hi, I think that JGM could also mean JG Miniatures. That company made (and continues to make) many building facades. I think at some point JG Miniatures worked in collaboration with Marlborough then went on to continue to sell the same facades under its own JGM branding. I’ve had fun trying to...
Hi All
I’ve got a couple of the dioramas in wooden boxes (similar to the one you shared in your photo) and another diorama in a big blue Marlborough box - photo attached. I’ve only seen the wooden boxed diorama come up for action once in the last year or two (I think C&T or Vectis). Best...
Hi there!
It has been ages since there was a Durbar related post on this forum so I was pleased to see your post.
I believe Sarum and Tradition used to sell unpainted Durbar and Indian army castings and Tradition castings still occasionally come up for sale on eBay from time to time.
Apart...
Thanks for sharing pictures of your elephants! Look great!
I saw a seller in Canada recently listed the elephant troop carrier on eBay which has now been sold.
Are your artillery figures all by Trophy too?
Best wishes
