    New vignettes for Chicago

I have a very simple routine with vehicle models (and figure boots etc.) where I apply literal mud. This is simply dirt that I have passed through a set of geological sieves down to 230 mesh (63 microns). This essentially reduces the scale of the dirt. The resultant dirt is basically dust. I...

WWII U.S. Armored Division; Tankers & Dogfaces

It's a funny thing how small shifts in perspective can have a dramatic impact on the final result. I always recommend to take several shots with small changes in position. Move forward and backward, up and down, etc. Sometimes it's a simple as getting a figure to pop between two trees rather...

World War II 1939-45 (Pictures) - Mixed Manufacturers

As the name implies, this will be a photo thread featuring models and figures from various manufacturers. I will try to acknowledge the manufacturers in each scene. I'm going to start out with a scene from Autumn 1944, featuring schwere Panzerjäger, both towed and mot Z, and SS...

    Bunker / Gun Emplacement scene

We continue to fill in bare areas and layer the various elements including dirt paint mixed with static grass for that stomped down look. There is even some dried basil The forest litter and sticks will be scattered as the last layer once everything else is done. Current state...

    Bunker / Gun Emplacement scene

Daunting is a good description. Smaller dios/vignettes would be much easier to detail simply due to scale. Some tradeoffs have to be made with this much area to cover. I'm curious to see when it will feel finished.

    Bunker / Gun Emplacement scene

The roof of the bunker started to take on a serious bow. This was always a concern and why we let the thick celluclay on the roof dry for a week with the roof weighed down to a flat surface. By carefully supporting the ends I pressed the area with the worst curve until the glue line between the...
