    Spring is Here

Final ptg on these front figures in oils. Started on the faces and some clothing. The oils are a vast improvement on the acrylics which always look flat.

    Spring is Here

Hi All, Welcome to visit. But be prepared for the Inquisition... hahaha. As I delve into the details of this piece, I have to redo bits here and there before final ptg. Here are two figs where I resculpted the arms.

    Local monthly modellers' gathering

Hi All, this month's installment of the meet. Quite a lot of models (mostly scifi and fantasy) but I show only a few. Surprisingly, my 10 commandments flats attracted a lot of interest and comments. I guess they like the lasciviousness of it all. Hahaha. They actually asked how did I paint...

    Spring is Here

Hi John and Matt, Thx for your comments. Im not sure on how to respond to charges of polygamy, and also the contrarian nature of Aussies. hahahahha. Ive finally completed the resculpting of the front figs. Then applied a new undercoat of acrylics. The ptg is based on Spring, by Lawrence...

    Frida and Diego

Someone said this is a rather unique piece. The most famous Mexican artist couple. What are they dancing? I replied that it was the famous Mexican hat dance. Hola. I took another look at the naive painting on which this is based. The shawl was rather voluminous and as she is twirling, I...

    Spring is Here

Some more WIP on the balcony figs. Ive done up the pillars. Originally thot to be rather complex to make with the encircling rings, I was lucky to find suitable sized metal wires which I made into rings around a wooden dowel. These were then placed around each pillar.

    Claudius

The sandals are necessary to identify him as Caligula. Decided to also do a Nero fig. Thickset neck and corpulent.

    Blaster Collection

Hi Matt and John, Thx for yr gracious remarks. I steered John away from my junkyard…hahaha. Matt, I used mirrored paper behind my frame mats to reflect the lights within my boxes. It really brightens up the interiors. Perhaps you could consider this approach as well? Rgds Victor

    Project Lucky

Hi John, Louis and Steve, thx for yr kind remarks. Ive always felt that this piece was not truly finished. So here it is redone in the warmer version throughout. Ive dyed some more cottonwool for smoke which I will add later.. I tinted the piece in red and brown paint. Added a stronger red...

    Project Lucky

I was asked to bring along a couple of my shadowboxes to the next modelling gathering. Funnily, I had not brought this piece before. So I took it out and decided to refurbish it. There were two versions of this painting (a cooler and a warmer version) on the internet. The original piece was...

    Spring is Here

And then, its fiasco time again! Upon examining the ptg carefully, I notice that the steps start from behind the left balcony. Thus the foreground procession is walking on a level platform. Phug! I think that beats AI....hahahaha. Luckily I have mastered the art of forebearance from dealing...

    Spring is Here

For the two flower girls, I’ve changed the pose of the one on the left and I’ve made the one on the right stand on tiptoe.

    Spring is Here

I raised the stage (archi stairs and balcony with wooden slats to allow clearance to drill and secure the front figure. Some of these figs have to be drilled and secured to provide support for the other figures which will be simply attached to the anchor figs. I also drilled and secured the...
