Hi John, Im baacckk! Now currently doing quite a number of mtd colourful figures to get back into Naps. I took out this piece and after studying it for a while, decided to work further, starting on the horse neck which was thickened and the shako. The proportions look off as this is a...

    German Uhlan WW!

My friend gave me this beautiful kit. Its a resin cast from Sockel and bases, a small German based figure company. The figure is sculpted by Alan Ball and the horse by Sergey Zlobov, two well known figure modellers. I plan to build it out of the box.

As the mtd figure has an unusual pose, it will not fit nicely into the proposed Historex saddle. This saddle also does not interlock correctly with many of the converted horse poses. Its shapde causing it to "float above the horse's spine. To solve this, I cut up the saddle into front and...

    Some Horses

I added legs. But I will have to sand down the horse flanks first, probably also the inner thighs. The key thing about mounted figures is to get a good "seat" to interlock the rider and horse.

OK. This is where we get serious. I was studying the headdress and decided to model this. So out came the drill and I sanded down the hair and ponytail. Now building up the elaborate headdress.
