Putting prices on loose figures from my Dad's collection

I would suggest acid-free tissue paper for long-term storage, otherwise eventually the paper will react with the lead/paint.

    Military Antiques

As a kid, I was always fascinated with military history, specifically WWII and the Third Reich. This initially led to my playingwith/collecting toy soldiers, playing "army," and collecting and using WWII German/Allied uniforms and accouterments. I found the market in Nazi regalia was inundated...

    Militaria shops in London, UK?

Yes Wellington, I was thinking of militaria shops generally, since they might also carry the odd toy soldier. However, I'm also interested in other militaria too - military prints for example. Rob, Besides the Imperial War Museum and National Army Museum, what are the other two you are thinking of?

    Militaria shops in London, UK?

Thanks Louis. I have these on my list. I recall another I visited in the early 1980s near Victoria station but I don't recall the name. Here's one I found on Google. Portobello Arms & Armour Shoppe: 117 Portobello Road (Vernons Yard). One of the most interesting shops in the area with a good...

    Militaria shops in London, UK?

I'm not sure if this has been asked before. If so, please direct me to the thread. I will be attending the December toy soldier show and thought I would also check London militaria/antique shops for soldiers. Does anyone know any such shops in London?

Any Toy Soldier shops on the West Coast?

Bob, Thanks for the tip about Newbury Toys. Checked the website (froze my Firefox but works with IE) and will have to drop by. Does it carry second-hand figures? The shops email is full so couldn't get a message through. The Camden Stables website is as confusing as ever. The place looks huge...

    London December Evening Event

Tony, Sign me up - Hugh Henry. Is there a pre-entrance fee so collectors can talk to the dealers while they are setting up on Friday like I read about at the Chicago show? Thanks, Hugh

    London December Evening Event

Tony, Thanks. Looking forward to the event. Do I just pay at the door? I haven't been to this show since 1995, do most people stay in the actual hotel or another one? Is there a discount or promo booking code if attending the show?

    Desktop wallpaper?

Richard, I just downloaded a K&C wallpaper from their site. Seems like a good idea, why don't you consider when updating your site. You could easily use some of the stock photos or ones from shows.

    London December Evening Event

Tony Thanks for the quick reply. I am tentatively planning on coming over. I have a paid ticket for the Britains event, and I guess I should have known that you would not plan your events the same evening. Could I tentatively book a spot?

    65th of Operation Jubilée

Unfortunately, I missed this earlier discussion. I did my PhD on the Dieppe Raid and produced a book on the tanks participation, so I have some thoughts. TANKS The full regiment of 58 tanks was sent; only 29 disembarked, 2 "drowned" on exiting prematurely, 27 made shore, at least 15 crossed...

Any Toy Soldier shops on the West Coast?

Re: London soldier/antique shops Thanks for all the advice on London and Paris soldier shops. Will have to check Portobello road and the other suggestions. I heard Stephen Naegel no longer has his shop but sells from home. I don't have a link or ebay lD. Interesting about Paris...
