Nice looking sculpts so far. Looking on with great interest.
Forgive my ignorance, but are these sculpts for your personal enjoyment or will these figures be offered for sale at some point?
I have a mint in the box Shores of Tripoli set, never opened the box for sale. I tried your e-mail address but the message did not go through, message me if interested.
I still see bags of "green army men" at the local Walgreens, complete with two different colored armies and tanks. They seem to be the modern era Timmee variety.
I also understand that the local Hobby Lobby and Hobby Lands carry the 1/72 figures as well as some of the BMC battle sets.
I had both of those 1/72 sets myself, infact I still have the tanks and figures from Anzio, I also had the Rat Patrol set and have retained most of those figures and tanks too. Great stuff, fond memories.
I suppose if the author from the "Exodus from the Alamo" had written it either the Mexicans would have won or the cowardly Anglo-Celts murdered the sick and infirm Mexicans in their sleep at a field hospital.
He is also the first one to refer to them as Anglo-Celts, I believe that's the term he used. He reminds me of a conspiracy buff, only uses the facts he want sto use to make his point, ignore others that would cast doubt on his point. I would prefer they give the evidence they have in conjunction...
I also read J R Edmondson's The Alamo Story just prior to starting Exodus from the Alamo. I much preferred the former, he provided as many facts as possible and let you know of all the other possible scenario's, but then left it up to you to decide for yourself what happened. I prefer this...
I guess that is one of the reasons the Alamo and Custer are so popular, everyone can theorize and speculate and no one can prove them wrong. Plus you can always throw in the what "ifs", and this makes the subjects all the more fascinating.
I'm sure some guys tried to run away, but he was virtually the entire garrsion heading for the hills. I believe there is some little bit of truth in every version of the events, the trick is finding what is true and what is exaggerated or false. I probably will never accomplish this, nor...
I too have started to read that book. It reads to me like the man has an agenda and that being that he is the only that has discovered the true story of the battle and every other source except the ones he uses of course are twisted and manipulated to make the battle more heroic for the...
They were doing an archeological dig in Belgium of some of the trench line from WWI and while doing this dig they unearthed some skeletons apparently the victims of some trench cave in.
In the Civil War i wouldn't be surprised if some of those " missing " simply took off and went home.
As soon as I get there and they get me my refrigerator. I should be there about 8:00AM on Friday, hope they give me a room before 4:00PM. Shouldn't take you too long to check since I'm next door. Come in have a beer or three and buy a Gibbs Custer set.
