:D Gday Scotty. Many Happy returns mate. We'll sing "FREZZA" for you.......OK! It goes.....FREEZA JOLLY GOOD FELLOW.....ha ha. Ohh please yourself. Happy B/day mate. Johno.:D
G'day Waynepoo, My name is Johno, and I live in Newcastle NSW. I've been away for a bit, and therefore not been on the Forum. I have had some posts here with pics of my work earlier. I collect, model and customise 54mm Napoleonic, US Civil War and Marlburnian figures. I also build military...
{sm5} Nothing surprises me anymore.Theres always someone who finds something to bag, and get all worked up about.Narrow minds indeed.It's a wonder they even reproduce.Theres nothing rude, inappreopriate or vulgar about this statue.I think we see more on the bill boards and adds every day.It's a...
G'day guys, Wow thats what is called glossy art. Not sure which I like more in the group shown. I do believe I like the little lady on the horse in the Deaths Head Hussar uniform.
I like ya thinking Johnnybach. I'm a Paramedic and the young blokes don't always finish this race last. "Sadly". It's funny how we all assume we'll live forever. A friend of mine died and his TS moulds and castings were left with family who didn't know what to do with it. So it went to ebay. At...
{sm3}Well said Johnny bach, Like you I paint castings and customise them as well. As you guys have seen. I like to add a theme to the solid Dio too. When I look into my cabinet I enjoy the fact that I painted these figures, and it gives me contentment. In fact doing this is my form of meditation...
[B] G'day Guys, You have not only answered my question but made my day. I love to restore old glories in their orininal youth. Knowing the acceptable practice is important for the future value, but so is personal pleasure. I agree with the thinking that if it's in really bad shape then it...
G'day Guys, I've been busy and away from the forum a bit. I am looking at buying some old Dimestore figures ie, Barclay or Manoil. Some are not bad condition but, command a high price, but others are knocked about a bit, and therefore cheaper. What is the thinking on repainting these in the...
G'day Steve, I wouldn't like to be a turk looking down the barrel of that charge. I have just finished a book with a srction of letters form a Light Horse trooper in that charge. Must have been scary and exilirating at the same time. Made history anyway didn't they. Well done mate. Cheers, Johno.
{sm4}I happen to agree with Johnnybach. The dio's I put up earlier are Glossys with the shading and highlighting for the realism, but I can't leave them without finishing them in gloss. It really all is a very personal thing. Thats why we all do it I suppose. A variety of views is always...
{sm3}G'day Guy, Snap shots in time is what I'd call them. Little miniature 3D pics of WWII. Expressions on the faces are there too. Very well done mate. Cheers, Johno.
{sm3}Well thanks so much Rob. I love the history of Rorkes Drift. Got the movie and an item ( keep sake ) from the 24th foots museum. I really appreciated this info mate. Thanks. Johno.
G'day Scott, I have to say mate, well done. As a glossy painter I love the finish on them. Theres something about this kind of finish. I like all types of Toy soldier art but lean very heavily to gloss. A real credit to you. Cheers, Johno.{sm4}
