    Assyrians and Big Sale

I wanted to say those were the bronze flying horses at the entrance to Nimrud. But in truth is only the stag bookends on the shelf.

    Cobra King

How did you replicate what is "maybe" chalk writing on the side of the tank? I built a Polish 1st Armd Sherman Firefly. and I wanted to replicate the chalk sentiments the Dutch civilians would write on the sides of the tanks in welcome. But I can't find a medium that is small enough to do that...

    Assyrians and Big Sale

I did manage to get an example of the Assyrian King. a very very surprising figure! First Legion really did these well! I won't collect a lot of this period in history, but this figure is exceptional, and I have to add "exceptional" to my collection.

    Knights of the Sky

Yes! to all of those! But once we have another SE-5, the Nieuports, and the Pfalz, that's the bulk of the more well known WW1 fighters. do we do bombers (Gotha, DH4 etc)? Or Bristol fighters? the big two seaters? float planes? And....... I would love to see: Fairey Swordfish. and Hawker...

JJD Ace-46 Sopwith is here. Another beautiful add to the collection!

I received my No 10 Naval Squadron Sopwith Camel today. I am as always, impressed with the fine craftsmanship JJD artisans apply to these models! And the subject matter is also thoughtfully done. Next, I'm hoping for a new SE.5a, and a French Neuport 17, or 28. and perhaps a US Newport 28? But...

New Releases for November 2022 - Thunder on the Plains

Can't wait to see how these are painted! the image of Ta-Sunko-witko, or the warrior who was first named "His horse is crazy", is excellent! all the correct painting he is said to have done at the time, and his cartridge belt is accurate for the time period, as well as if that is an 1866, 1873...

News Update October 3rd, 2022 - Thunder on the Plains

I will be adding these sets to my collection. I would like to have a couple "fours" on a skirmish line. So Four horses, and a "holder" x's 2. and six troopers firing or preparing to. If I had lots of money, I'd have a full company. The Cavalry usually directed the men falling out for a skirmish...

News Update September 26, 2022, Thunder on the Plains

Britain's has a single 1880's infantryman in their "Dirty Shirt Blues" series. it appears correct for an 1880's soldier. except he seems to have cavalry boots on? . but these JJD's seem a little more refined. Will be some nice sets to display.

News Update September 26, 2022, Thunder on the Plains

Yes, they were. an odd design. with fold up brims, and a pair of fiddly hooks to hold them. see pic, this is the best representation I've seen so far of an 1876 period US soldier. This is a cavalryman, so the boots, carbine, sling , pistol holster, and extra leather loop for pistol cartridges...

News Update September 26, 2022, Thunder on the Plains

I'm a pain, I know. but also at the time of the Rosebud and Little Big Horn fights. the Soldiers did not yet have many 1876 prairie belts either. I can't tell if that is what they are wearing. but at the time of those battles, most troops had the black leather belts with cartridge loops...

News Update September 26, 2022, Thunder on the Plains

I am looking forward to this collection! I too, am not financially able to start a new range, but I will for these! These look great! and the pack horses, and saddled mounts look good. hope they get the details right. I tend to like them that way. The slings on their 1873 Springfield rifles...

    May 2022 Figure Release

I have all the Korea USMC figures up these. I will get some of these. By the way, the Marine kneeling and firing must be a new recruit? with his fingers covering and interfering with the op rod on his M1. that may slap some fingers around. but for sure it's going to disrupt his shooting.

    Scout.

Oh, and the reason why I posted was not to complain. it was to congratulate "waynepoo" on the superb pictures. the last one in particular is very nice, the tint color lighting and subject are a perfect depiction to me of the old west Apache scout.

    Scout.

These are VERY well done! The Apache Scout is particularly nice! As for the Sergeant of Cavalry, there are some things I don't like. which I have since corrected. 1- The yellow scarf.....Although a very happy Hollywood affectation, the real soldiers wore privately purchased bandannas and...

News Update April 18th, 2022 - Knights of the Skies

I have the Frank Luke Spad XIII, and the "Black Maria" Sopwith Triplane, which are both heavily wired. So far, no issues. I'm careful about moving them, and as long as you keep your fingers and other things away from the wires, your ok. they stay in, and stay taught. I've had my Spad since...

News Update April 18th, 2022 - Knights of the Skies

Very nice model. and a very unexpected subject. I didn't know US pilots were flying float planes in Italian service at all? I'm going to have to look into that. I think this is a very interesting aircraft. Not many floatplanes especially Italian get modeled. A bold product release, and one...

Upcoming Napoleonic Wars for April 2022

I've been waiting for these for a while. Poses are ok to me. I don't have any of the Dutch lancers. I already have the officer. Will get the rest as funds allow. But, I thought in these uniforms, the officers had red pants? Not blue? I like the different uniform types. They even depict a...
