    Waterloo and Plancenoit Diorama

Chris, Regarding the First Legion Guard artillery, the gunners are unfortunately in full dress uniform, which isn't very realistic on the Waterloo battlefield. I've attached some pictures of the campaign dress worn at that time. To complement your Prussian troops, I highly recommend the First...

    Waterloo and Plancenoit Diorama

Very impressive diorama project !. I also have a diorama project of Plancenoit, but with fewer figures: about twenty Silesian Landwehr (First Legion and Thomas Gunn) facing roughly the same number of French grenadiers of the Imperial Guard (King and Country, Team Miniatures, and William...

I found a better quality photo of the Viking StuG IV in Poland during the summer of 1944.

First Legion - LWG011 German Stug IV - 5th Panzer Division Wiking

Thank you for this very thorough and well-documented answer. It's always very interesting to have discussions with you, even though we each have different opinions on certain topics. Regarding the blackened muzzle brakes, indeed, as you say, a number of tanks had this characteristic. But what I...

First Legion - LWG011 German Stug IV - 5th Panzer Division Wiking

Hunter, aesthetics aren't really my priority. What's most important to me is historical accuracy, and I think producing tank models with SYSTEMATICALLY blackened muzzle brakes is more of an artistic choice than a reflection of reality. Indeed, some period photos as you attached show dark-colored...

First Legion - LWG011 German Stug IV - 5th Panzer Division Wiking

The main issue is the absence of anti-magnetic Zimmerit coating, which was present on all tanks and SPGs from December 1943 to September 1944. Since the Viking Panzer Division received 22 StuG IVs in March 1944, LWG011 should have been coated with zimmerit (as elsewhere LWG012 and NOR089). And...

Received my M10 today. A good model with an issue.

I don't really understand the somewhat austere tone of your message. As I indicated previously, it is indeed useful to contact WB, and that's what I did. However, nothing prevents us from discussing it on this forum, which is also designed for that purpose.

Received my M10 today. A good model with an issue.

I actually think it's useful to contact Ted or Chris at WB because there's really a big issue with the breech block. In fact, if we look at the attached photos, it turns out that the breech block is mounted upside down !. You'd have to completely remove the protruding piece and position it...

Received my M10 today. A good model with an issue.

Hello Medic, I hadn't noticed the issue with the main gun breech block. Indeed, it's a shame for a €300 plus model kit. And besides, correcting this ourselves is a rather delicate job, not to mention that we'll have to repaint it in the exact color. I've attached photos of my M-10's breech...

    Spring Awakening

A very beautiful diorama enhanced by the nice JJD Jagdpanther and First Legion figurines. Indeed, the 2nd SS Pz Division received 10 Jagdpanthers in February 1945 (as did the 9th and 10th SS Pz Div). None were lost during this offensive, as all 10 were listed as operational on March 15, 1945.

    New Releases September 25....

About the Kursk russian infantry (as for the Germans elsewhere), I still don't understand why there is always this rocky base rather than a grassy steppe as it should be. I know that it is easy to cover the base ourselves with flocking, but it is still surprising.

    British airborne NOR055

I finally managed to get the retired reference Nor055 on Ebay. But I'm surprised because the camouflage patches are small and very few in number on the front of the "Denison" smock. This gives the figurine smock a strange look. If you have this item, is it the same for you, or was mine done by a...

    New Releases September 25....

Just a little historical clarification about the Middle Guard: it was disbanded in 1814, so it did not fight at Waterloo.
