Let's hear it for Britains ACW Swoppets!

Agreed. All hail Swoppets. I now enjoy a large collection of ACW Swoppets - after recovering all the figures I had lost when I was growing up. Swoppets are still some of the most well conceived toys ever made by Britains and it boggles me to think that they can re-release the Detail range but...

    Antique Britains repair anyone?

Does anyone know of a service that can repair a set of Bengal Lancers from 1922? Two lance tips are missing. Also is it advisable to repaint the figures as part of the restoration or leave them as is even with the chips? Cheers, ssorc1

    AUCTION on TREEFROG !

Brilliant. Auctions on Treefrog! Love the idea. Since all the collectors are here and most of the guys that buy and sell on Ebay anyway this is total simplicity without the Ebay and Paypal fees. Look forward to many more. Cheers.

    Great FIW books anyone?

Anyone have reviews on the Alan Eckert books? Wilderness Empire is one of the titles I believe. I can't say enough about Harold Coyle's Savage Wilderness - though the title sounds like a romance novel, the book covers every major engagement and the battle descriptions are vivid. Like you were...

    Jenkins Catalog 09

Thanks for all the emails and the comments. Much appreciated. Feel free to send it out amongst yourselves as well. If you would like a copy don't hesitate to contact me, I'll happily send you one, but if you know of someone who will enjoy it just pass it along. The idea is to share the hobby and...

    Ticonderoga 1758

No offense to Frontline, but John is the master of all things FIW. I would hate to think that Frontline's efforts would potentially decrease our chances of ever seeing a Jenkins effort based on Ticonderoga. Not to be selfish though, as the battles and figures we are already getting from him are...

    Ticonderoga 1758

Question is, is Jenkins reading this forum? This has come up so many times as a collector favourite I can't imagine that he would pass on it altogether. I think he can safely assume that all the sets would sell out - even at 750 or 1000 as a production run - as the interest is already there. We...

    Jenkins Catalog 09

Hey guys, I took it upon myself to create a visual guide of all the John Jenkins sets that have been released to date - as of February 09. I can never wait for a manufacturer to create one and they usually don't anyway, not to my liking so... It's a pretty hefty catalog at 55 pages, but it...

    Looking to sell some Jenkins?

Thanks for the tips. I'm not familiar with all the dealers and John's list on his website is out of date. I'll look these up. Also if any members are looking to sell of collections as Mark did recently wit the Snowshoes sets I am interested as well. Cheers.

    Looking to sell some Jenkins?

I'm looking for Jenkins sets. I am mostly interested in the following but will consider anything that you may want to sell. Just PM me with any details and I'll let you know asap if I am interested. I'll pay a little more than what it cost at retail but only reasonable prices will be considered...

    Jenkins tumbrel cart?

Does anyone know what ever happened to the tumbrel cart in this photo? It appears to be a Jenkins as it resembles the British Artillery piece in it's design. Just wonder if it ever was released or if it is planned to be? Love to see it as part of the Monongahela series. Cheers

    New releases for february 2009

Put the figure leaning on the barrel back in the Ranger camp and it could be a case of too much army rum. Cheers, ssorc1:D

    Favourite Imperial Piece

I have the whole Brave Defenders #41 and Storehouse #42 in the classified section right now if anyone is interested. Comes with a set of Zulus #78 as well and I'm open to offers. No hidden reserve here. Would love to sell as a complete set. :D Cheers, ssorc1

    earthworks

Agreed. The earthworks are too uniform. They were built in a rush by the French with whatever trees they could fell in the immediate area and stacked and supported as well as could be done, at various levels to accommodate cannon and firing lines. It would be a shame of Frontline's efforst...

    New releases for february 2009

Thanks for the pictures. Awesome. Been looking forward to some new figures. Nice to see Jenkins working toward mini-dioramas like this Ranger Camp. Wasn't big on the huts and the static Rangers, but with the addition of the jetty and another Whaleboat this now becomes wort the investment. Can't...

    Fort William Henry 28mm-40mm custom

Had this custom built for me by Miniature Services Centre based on actual plans for Fort William Henry. I wanted a corner section for a diorama I was building, but quite frankly my eyes gave out on painting the miniatures - and then Jenkins came along with FIW. Need to make room for the big boys...

Imperial rorke's drift sets for sale

Hate to let it go, as I've had it for many years now but the times and my interests are changing. I have all the sets - pictured here - for sale, as a single lot. This is what you get. Set #41 - The Brave Defenders of Rorke's Drift - box 1,2,3 - includes personality figures set and 2 24th foot...
