    Memories of Christmas passed

You guys were lucky kids. All I had was green army men. When I first saw Marx soldiers I was blown away by the sculpts. I had to trade hard to get some of those soldiers. I first saw Airfix when I was 13-years old and bought them under a guise that it was for my little brother. I did have a...

    Bored Tonight...Post a Diorama, LOL

Good pics Steve! Clearly, the corn eating woman is VC. She's everywhere. My favorite pic that I didn't see yet is of US soldiers huddled behind tanks in Hue city. Also love the Sheridan tank. Still hoping KC would make that tank. Unique design.

    JJD Advent Calendar 2025

I'm no expert on 17th-18th century warfare, but you can wrap the sling around your arm to steady your rifle when aiming.

The American Revolution by Ken Burns

The series is good, but I'm just tired at night. Even reading a good book, the book falls on my face after 3-pages.

The American Revolution by Ken Burns

I read a book about Southwestern Indians and you would come away that they were real savages, not to just settlers, but other tribes too. Really brutal stuff. I guess its a competition for resources and territory.

The American Revolution by Ken Burns

Although I slept through most it, there's always something to learn. Last night's episode had the patriots going total war on the Indians, killing, destroying their houses and burning crops. Something new to me. Also laying a chain across a waterway to prevent the British from sailing up the...

The American Revolution by Ken Burns

Went through 3-episodes. Great illustrations and paintings. Enjoying them, but I keep falling asleep. Of the 6-hours thus far, I probably saw 3-hours.

    Things that annoy me

Hey Gary, good one. Sissies Lol. Remember when cars had that small side window to let air in. I wonder if kids nowadays know what roll down your window mean. I think we had ac in our family car, but my folks never put it on, because they thought it was frivolous and burned more gas. That box fan...

Airfix Old HO Scale Figure Box Sets in Original Boxes, Photos Inside

I have an Airfix box of 54mm soldiers that broke into many parts after 20-years. Maybe its the humidity in Hawaii that destroyed them.

    Indy and the Deadly Scorpion

I was having some bourbon yesterday and recalled wanting to name my son Race, but I ended up having three daughters. So I told my youngest daughter if she'd like to have the nickname Scout from To Kill a Mocking Bird, but she said no, so it didn't stick. We'd tease her, Erin barbarian.

    Indy and the Deadly Scorpion

I'm hoping it'll be as enjoyable today as when I was a kid. Trying to recapture my youth, like collecting toy soldiers.

    Indy and the Deadly Scorpion

Jonny Quest is also my favorite cartoon. Lots of action. I should have bought the DVD with all the episodes from Costco years ago.
