Peter Jackson and World War I

There is supposed to be a second showing in the US. January 11 in 3 cities and February in at least 25 other markets. It is brilliant work. I would like to see the 3D version. All that was a available yesterday were tickets for a late standard showing.

    The American Civil War Diaries

Bob, I am a Wisconsin grad and Iron Brigade aficionado, and my great, great grandfather's North Carolina regiment fought in the vicinity of the Cornfield. I was excited to see your diorama. So much action packed into that scene and done in your usual brilliant style.

    Smoke Screen

From a photography standpoint, there is a lot to like about this photo. The guy near the edge leads us into the frame, and there is good foreground and middle ground. One thing I like a lot about the background is that the smoke makes us imagine what is just beyond, and you have a dead/wounded...

New Releases for January 2018 - The Second World War

Seriously? I had backed off a lot on toy soldiers lately for various reasons, and now you make this Corsair. That is stunning. I love the folding wings. I already have one Corsair, but it will tempt me for sure.

New Releases for August 2017 - Inter-War Aviation

Simply stunning grouping when you combine the planes (I do love planes), deck, and a lot of great looking poses. Hmmm. I have been really cutting back, but this is oh so tempting. Of course, I have to find room to put more planes...

    new movie DUNKIRK

I just saw it an hour ago. I think it is a great success as a soldiers/you are there movie. For those wanting a little more context, it is not really that type of movie. It is definitely viscerally stimulating. The Stukas might be the loudest sound I have heard in a movie. I saw 70mm IMAX.

JUST ... KING and COUNTRY American Revolution

Excellent diorama and collection. They are my favorite from K&C's AWI range. I have a number and paired them with some of the of native American pieces, but I never got managed to get the prisoner set. Still don't have the wagon set either.

The Former US Army Ordnance Museum - Aberdeen Proving Ground Maryland

Thanks Tom!! Nice Link. The tanks sure looked good back in the 70s! We were lucky to spend a lot of time there not long before it moved. I am going to add a link from my personal site, which has a lot of my photos from 2009. Some of the vehicles held up well, but certainly a few not so well over...
