Now that Ive done with the 21st lancers at Omdurman and Badajoz, I took out this oldie and cleaned up the dusty components. I seem to have been stumped by a few chokepoints - the bkgrd walls, the Lazarus figure group etc.
I had bought this fig when I was in Spain. Just examining it as I was clearing out some shelves. It has some flaws which need correcting.
The fig leans a little to the left side. The shield is too neatly printed and I cant make out the markings. Legs look a little stumpy. The figure hands dont...
Thanks John.
As can be seen, I had to crop a higher vantage viewpoint to create this dramatic visual perspective. The high frame also masks the varying differences in sizes between the lower level figs and the upper level figs.

I added the falling shako, added the final smoke effects and finally added the cropped frame. I finished this off with a brass label and took the final nighttime lit scene pics. Thanks again for following this thread.

Tx Paddy for your comments. These sets are just delightful and make great ptg exercises. I ptg in oils and am rediscovering the joys oif using liquin as a ptg medium.
Liquin promotes the smooth application of the oils when compared to using only turpentine to wet the brushes.
I changed the orientation of the side wall structure and raised the base elevation to angle it downwards towards the front. Then added some putty.
I also added a pistol to one of the figures and shaped them a bit.
