Indeed, I will need to read up on Robert Williams, no doubt quite a story !

    Fallschirmjäger

I'd love to see more FJ's ...but I think we have to admit we have been spoiled really, month in month out new figures (and lots of them ) from all sorts of era's, which I think is phenomenal really, and can't work out how Andy and his team do it...that said roll on the Gran Sasso rescue range !!

Great photos, that really is a fine figure too.

    IDF in a village

A fine range, the IDF, great poses - will be good to see them against some opposition.

    Fallschirmjäger

Yes a fascinating battle, but for the mistaken decision to withdraw from Maleme, when the para's were just about to crumble to nothing themselves, it would all have been so different! For Allied troops in the Med theatre 8th army do well though, maybe too many short trousers though :) Yes the...

    Fallschirmjäger

A fascinating battle, every time I read about it I expect the Germans to lose , and am horrified that they hung in there for the win ! The Crete FJ range was excellent , but I suppose that has been done, it would be good to see the early fallschirmjager sets re- done in Normandy/ splinter camo...

    Fallschirmjäger

The last range FJ010 to 017 of a few years back would cover Italy/Monte Cassino perfectly well though in terms of uniforms.

    K&C Jagdtiger WS180

There are good pictures of Captain Rudolf Rennecke of Fallschirmjager regiment 3 at Monte Cassino wearing an SS smock, which is very interesting, but again, most unusual.

    K&C Jagdtiger WS180

It would be extremely rare though to see a Heer panzer soldier/officer wearing SS camo, very much the exception, even towards the end of the war.

    Early U.S. Paratroopers

Has anyone ever worked out what the figure (on the far left of the first photo in the thread, or on the right in the photo above) is actually doing? I always wondered when I had these as Airfix figures in the 80's. A very odd pose  :smile2:

    Fallschirmjäger

The Crete FJ's were excellent, and quite sought after it seems on the secondary market. A standout set for me of that series was the " prisoner and escort" FJ006-07, the escort nco figure holding stick grenade and mp40 was really well crafted.

Yes I agree. It would be great to see them. Maybe this can be an Airborne troops year after all ?

Looks excellent, like they have just bagged a prisoner ready for questioning!

That would be great Andy, thanks, I think it could be a great range ( what with the range "personality" figures....range of smocks, maybe netting to helmets and FG42's) ....although I will admit I feel spoiled for choice now at the new Ramcke and Folgore and will have a many happy weeks ahead...

We have had the Folgore, I wonder when the Gran Sasso rescue of Mussolini figures/set may be out, and how its production is coming along?
