So I've already begun to plan out my costume for next Halloween and have decided to go the Beau Geste route. Does anyone know where to get a reproduction blue coat or a fairly similar substitute?
Beside the garrison at Fort Sumter, were there other groups of soldiers that found themselves cut off in secessionist states at the start of the American Civil War? I've never heard this mentioned, but it seems as if there should have been a few other fortifications throughout the south.
Wasn't sure where to ask about unpainted metal figures, but this looked like the best place.
Does anyone know of a company that produces 54mm ACW marines? The only figures I have come across are AIP (don't care for the poses) and Replicants (rare as hen's teeth).
I want to work up a diorama of the '59 Cuban Revolution and along with the Engineer Basevich "command" set I'd like to have a number of additional rebel troops. I've been trying to find suitably attired figures with patrol caps but have only found the old Auburn US infantry sets which are pretty...
Are there brushes that don't "clog" as bad as others when using primer? Wasn't sure if there were ones made specifically for it or, at the least, were composed of bristles that cleaned better than others.
Wondering if anyone was planning on producing American Revolution figures in the near future. Would love to see some Continental Army guys as well as marines and Hessians.
Does anyone know a paint that matches the cream-gold color often seen on pants and waistcoats of American Revolution uniforms (and if this color has an official name)? I've heard this may be "buff" but I'm not sure.
Want to take a shot at converting a few figures and was wondering what cutting tool would be best. The figures in question are ACTA American Maryland Infantry and the plastic is fairly hard (definitely more so than some of their other sets). I was considering an X-Acto #15 blade, which is very...
Stumbled onto their 1/72 Boxers the other day and was really impressed. It doesn't look like they ever produced any other sets for the conflict, and I was wondering if anyone knew if they were planning on doing so.

I'm sure quite a few forum members have owned a set of the Tim Mee "M-16" U.S. infantry figures that were all the rage in the '70s and '80s. I fondly recall waging crude dice-driven war games with several dozen at a time. Recently I found out that the original sets included a marching soldier...
I've inherited my aunt's Department 56 Dickens Village and my wife and I can't stand the fact that the figures are our of scale with the houses - they are ridiculously big. I've heard that the houses roughly fall somewhere in the vicinity of 1/48th scale. Was wondering if anyone knew of...
