    Ordering from John Jenkins

Hello, it’s been a while since I ordered anything new from the JJD website and it looks out of date….considering dipping into Wellington in India but they’re not on there at all. Can you still order direct or is it just through dealers now? Cheers

Having a bit of a clear out and I have a JJD comic booklet that’s free to a good home. Still in its cellophane wrap. Must have got it for free with an order so seems a bit tight to sell it on. Free postage for UK collectors, anywhere else please PM first.

    71st Highlander late for parade

Picked up a nice glass case in a charity shop today. Not big enough for my detachment of 71st but rather than put this guy back in his box on his own I thought I’d make a feature of him.

    Swap - K&C Naps

Hi, I have a Coldstream drummer NA132, looking to swap for either of the 2 Coldstream casualties NA135 or 136. Drummer is in excellent condition with no chips or dinks in original box do would expect the same back. UK only really. Also have a couple of the older Scots Greys - can’t remember the...

Some great action figures here. Base and scenics courtesy of JG Miniatures (now Sheffield Miniatures) which sets them off lovely.

    Voltigeurs through the gate!

Been having some fun the last few days displaying the fantastic figures that K&C produce. I’d really like a couple of Guardsman casualties for this small display if anyone has a spare NA135 or NA136 they’d be willing to sell or trade in the UK?

    Waterloo museum diorama

I visited Waterloo a few weeks ago for the reenactment weekend which was fantastic - French, British and Prussian bivouacs to wander through and chat with the re-enactors before the battle in the evening plus the museums to visit. When Mrs Simmo complains I have too many soldiers I can show her...

    Retreat to Dunkirk

12” x 12” base and building from JG miniatures for use with UXB sets but a nice base for my retreat to Dunkirk figures. Still after a couple from the range….they do have a lot of character. I was lucky enough to spend a night in Dunkirk a few weeks ago to visit the beach and museum which was...

Trial post….see if it works :)

Had to move my cupboard so opportunity to rearrange and try and take some photos to post. Usually struggle with compressing and I do like glass shelves and a mirror background so not easy to photo…. From the top I have JJD Jacobite, Rangers, FIW then Conte/Britains Zulu and back to JJD Sudan...

Wellington in India series for Peninsula War?

Hello, the Peninsula War series seems to have run out of steam and I would have loved some British infantry by JJD. From the Wellington in India range, the 74th Regiment saw action in the Peninsula after India. How accurate would the figures be in a Peninsula War display? Cheers.

    (Almost) Free Toy Soldier Magazines!!!!

Hello, having a clear out and decided I don’t have room for some older toy soldier magazines. The Toy Soldier & Model Figures magazines are roughly mid 2011-2019 (issues 147-243) and I also have Toy Soldier Collector issues 43-61 between 2013-2015. Condition is generally good to excellent...

    Interesting things you come across….

Hello, I spend a bit of time motorbiking and walking around and it’s always a thrill to come across a piece of history. The cream-coloured house on the left had an interesting plaque and I was even more impressed when I happened upon the memorial a short time later. Hambone Jr. the 47th...

Stalag Luft III - The Great Escape

Hello, the famous “Great Escape” prisoner of war camp is just outside Zagan in Poland. Most of the site is now woodland but there is an excellent museum and recreated hut, guard tower and even a small section of tunnel. The route that tunnel “Harry” took is commemorated. Well worth a visit...
