Dear All
I am not sure if people are aware but Patrick Adams of the British Toy Soldier Company has passed away.
Patrick would have wonderful ceremonial displays of his figures at the London Toy Soldier Shows, and he was always very friendly to chat with.
I did not realise that he was such a...
The Great Siege: Malta 1565 by Ernie Bradford is a superb book on the siege; provides a great overview and also details the heroic efforts of the defenders - The Knights, Men at Arms and ordinary Maltese citizens.
Perhaps read the full conversation before commenting. Then you will see why it is 'bleeding obvious' why Charlie Brown wrote what he did. :wink2::wink2::wink2:
Obee (from Oz) was saying he had seen the signs for MK; but not what was lurking beyond.
CharlieBrown was simply suggesting to him...

Normally, the June show is by far the quietest of the 3 shows - in terms of both dealers and customers.
Of course, weather wise it is the best time to visit the UK.

On his FB page Dave posted the following:
I have just finished this 1/30th scale church. It is on a 4’x3’ board and about 30” tall. This was an interesting commission as it is based on the foam model by Conte. The original model is of a ruined church with one corner completely missing. It was...
W Britains set 20042 British Surgeon Reynolds Operating on Corporal Allen includes the dog; however, it is retired.

I just take pics; I am not the video man.
That is a guy who painstakingly walks around each table filming everything - I don’t have that much patience 😀
Jeff - good luck with your new venture. The boards look great.
Cheers

Hi Jeff
if you have the All4 app on TV (like Iplayer) you can stream all the shows when you want.
Unfortunately, I am not going to make the London show in Dec, hopefully March.
If you are going, make sure to take your camera !!!

Just giving those in UK a heads up that this series has finally been released in UK.
Interestingly it is on More4 - which seems an obscure channel / streaming for such a series?!!!
Tank battle scenes are good, half way through

Rorkes Drift backdrop. Britain’s only did one for Isandlawana. I have both Britain’s buildings so would like one that has the potential to be joined to cover x 2 Billy Book cases. Also could be used for Boer War era.
Forest (European) for use as backdrop to say Agincourt - as the archers were...
One potential avenue is to look at the modelling world for figures.
They are frequently sold as 54mm but for instance, Chronos Miniatures (Naps) and Crecy Models (Agincourt/Knights) work well with 1/30.
The problem is in modelling 54mm varies, in the same way that 1/30 appears to vary in this...

Why give in to a tiny minority? That is what they want; to determine their narrative. Their actions are akin to fascism.
The vast majority of people - I believe - are dismayed by the behaviour of the 'cancel mob'; Rowan Atkinson (aka Black Adder) said recently it was akin to medieval...
