    Lord Jim 1965

Hi Victor, None has ever done Conrad justice on film. Many have tried. After so many, the evidence should be conclusive. There is a relentless fascination that comes from reading his work and I guess it is tempting for the film artist to try to tell the story in a different medium. But the...

    Lord Jim 1965

Saw it again myself just last week. Definitely not in the same pond as Lawrence or Zulu but for much the same reason as The Duellists does not rate beside Waterloo and War And Peace. Both stories are written by Joseph Conrad; he is not for everyone. These are not historical accounts but rather...

    Keeping up with the Aussies

Hi Gary, Collaboration and a museum, or a really big house are probably the only practical ways to accommodate more than one of these big birds. We are fortunate here to have collaborative participants and a shared desire to expose our work in public - yep; egotists and Show-offs - that’s us...

    Keeping up with the Aussies

Hi Gary, The Sunderland is the largest warbird to date and is truly marvellous. It’s size is a challenge for diorama makers but we are working on it. But gentlemen on this side of the ditch? :) Nuts and Mabel will be seen together in an all Aussie dio in a museum display. Two together is just...

Winter on the Eastern Front 1942/43

Nice work. An uncommon weather for Tom. Not a lot of snow in Darwin. Great to see a sharing of fun.

On the Road from Phu Bai to Hue

Very nice work. The roadbase is very convincing. Great composition and the photo works really well. Your VN series of dioramas has provided heaps of good viewing.

Now that really does beef it up. There is now the possibility of a story. Well done Enrico, and good job Andy. Bob

    Put the Bren over there.

Never mind the puns, just train that Bren on the enemy :)

    Put the Bren over there.

If you just put a little water on it, that bamboo will grow - looks very realistic. Well done!

    France 1942 The Hit

My dioramas for Melbourne K&C visit

Send me your address by PM and I’ll send you a sample by mail. One already on the way to South Australia. I put one of Andy’s marines into a small section - had to cut one foot off the shotgun man but it works like he is stepping from the water onto a bank. Great fun working with water:) Bob

My dioramas for Melbourne K&C visit

It was well done Damian! That is a great piece of water treatment in the Gauntlet. I don’t recall seeing a better or more dynamic scene. Looking forward to what you come up with for next year. We will definitely be back for another look. How are you doing with the rice paddy? Bob

Rally the troops - support the Duke of Wellington

Oh yes, Wellington on foot is appropriate :wink2:. There would be many of those :)

Rally the troops - support the Duke of Wellington

Yep. Not a lot happening on the forum. A bit like the hundred days campaign - flash in the pan :) would break the boredom. Why 8 Napoleon’s? Because people don’t ask “Napoleon who?”. And a mere Duke is hardly a match for an Emperor. Christian Clavier lives! And I saw Napoleon in Belgium in 2015...
