great looking figures, can’t wait for Zulus. Always thought that if the Zulus had organised all they had after Isandlwana I.E. half a million rounds of ammunition and easily one thousand martinis plus spares artillery and god knows what instead of destroying everything in sight the Zulu kingdom...
you are right. If you look on eBay at so called St Petersburg figures some are rubbish and often the seller has no idea what the figure is. I was not aware of any negative feedback on Attica. I was considering buying from them myself. Thought they were generally well regarded?
Agree with everything you say but it would seem to be that or nothing which is a shame. As I said. Thomas Gunn were not even there which is a first. Now based in Hong Kong so probably will not attend in the future so no major players with direct representation. Tells you something.
I was told by a lady from Guideline at the March show that the summer show will not happen and it is now just December and March. Things must be tight. Even the free plastic bag was from the local Indian takeaway.
Did not see TG at the London show and note from the Website they have a place in Hong Kong. Have they now only a wharehouse in the UK and are they now HK based?
Hi. I have TG,FL and conte Zulus. The Conte are noticeably smaller and don’t look good with the FL and TG.
I think FL and TG are 60mm and Conte are 54mm like Benito. The Conte I will probably put on EBay. Regards.
First legion are in my opinion the best Zulu figures but are in short supply apart from the 2 carrying guns. Thomas gun are good but not as good and their skin tone blends in well with FL. They however do not have a great number of attacking figures and it is therefore difficult to compose a...
Hi. Thought there was to be a June show in Milton Keynes? Maybe out of London could mean a better venue and cheaper hotels? Also OK travel links. Could be positive and a bit more befitting.
Great battle scenes but there was so much drama at Waterloo that is not portrayed and the actor who played Uxbridge was awful as was the guy who played Muffling who was a comedy actor. That I think was pro rata the or one of the most expensive films ever made so an opportunity to make something...
I remember being disappointed with Waterloo. Bit of a naff film with wooden acting and a bad script despite being spectacular and ambitious. The film was so badly received it put the kibosh on any Napoleonic films at the pre production stage ending Stanley Kubricks epic ambition which by all...
Hi. Hope you enjoy the UK and that people are as kind to you as they have been to me when I have visited the US. The Historic dockyard at Plymouth should be on your list of ‘things that mustn’t be missed. HMS Victory is awesome. Warrior and the Mary Rose are also there. Imperial War Museum...
Difficult. Chop off and replace. Spare plastic or metal from Historex or Tradition of London. Buy a whole sword and file down the hilt leaving a dowel to insert into a pre drilled hole in the existing sword.
Re: Movie/TV Newsweek
Ridley Scott. Napoleon. Just seen a trailer for this and it looks as if they have used footage from the old Rod Steiger film for the attack of French Cavalry on British squares at Waterloo. I suppose it would cost too much to recreate that and that film did that very well...
Marco. Thankyou for that info. What wonderful creations showing such artistry and knowledge of subject. Done with a wooden toothpick, paperclips and putty. I am in awe of this fellow.
