I live in Waco and this has been really hard on this small town. Wife knows several of the affected families through work including two of the missing volunteer firefighters. It's been a rough time around here. Search & Rescue were still still trying to sort through the blast area earlier today...
mmmm... maybe you can do a conversion and give him a bottle of Glenlivet XXV perhaps?;) At any rate, funny pics... showed them to a few fellow collectors here (all metal guys of course!) and got a big laugh!
Well...umm... I tried the whole "workers of the world unite... for more toy soldier space" thing and it didn't work any better for me than it did for the Soviet Union. Perhaps a little "Perestroika" or some other rubbish might do the trick?:p:wink2: I get the feeling there's a poncho propped up...
Unfortunately, I have not been able to get back. When I was stationed in Germany years ago Hungary was still under communist rule and as such I could not travel there. I did have a family member who did return and do some research on our family history, much of which is now in my posession. I...
Just when I was going to fix me up a little shack outside our local zoo...dang! I had planned on a german guard shack sort of look... you know... kind of intimidate people into paying my outrageous parking fees!:D I do wonder if sometimes people really do see these joke emails and think HEY! I...
I know what you mean Rob... maybe it's just me but it seems there are fewer choices with the allied vehicles so I tend to grab most of them regardless, speaking of which, what is your opinion of the Brit "Priest"? For me it's one of those iconic desert war pieces that I'll probably buy sight...
Sooo... you're saying you're not sure if you'll be getting these fine British war machines? The worlds gone mad!{sm4}{eek3}! Kidding... a big thank you to all the kind folks who are lucky enough to get to these shows and take the time to post pics. Those of us less fortunate souls greatly...
It reminds me of all the ACW commerative collectable whatever you see in many history magazines. My favorite was a Robert E. Lee cucko clock!:rolleyes2::redface2::p Oh and if you're one of the people who owns one that's okay too!{sm4}:wink2: I'm sure some people think my toy soldiers are in bad...
The book "On Killing" is a good place for anyone to start to understand what war does not only to the individual but society as a whole. If people, and I'm talking all people here not good guys vs. bad guys, got more "outraged" at the stupidity of the ideology... religion... politics... that led...
You've got me confused with one of those "Air Cav" boys!{sm4} Interesting about you're ancestors... my family also came from Hungary prior to the ACW. I became interested in cavalry as a youngster because one of them served as a Lt. in the Hussars! He hailed from Pest originally, married a...
I've always wondered why you don't find more WWI artillery. IMHO it's as varied and interesting as the WWII armor, I guess it just doesn't sell well. I would probably expand my collection further into this era if more field pieces were available.
At least you waited... inspired by the upcoming K&C Russian releases I decided to start planning for another round of expansion. The teenage daughter caught me making a few floor measurements in her room... needless to say she and the Mrs. were less than thrilled with my version of Uncle Joe's...
Mechanized Quartermaster? Field Finance... Just funn'en you Brother! BTW what kind of poll doesn't include CAV? ...oh wait... I see it... "elite forces"...my bag{sm4}^&grin
While I certainly don't condone the picture in question and agree it shows poor judgement, calls for bringing charges against these soldiers seem a bit extreme. My guess is that any NCO's identified as well as any officer involved will pay a fairly steep price in terms of their future...
