I just got back from vacation from Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming, USA) yesterday and I had to mention an old book I found on a bookshelf in my cabin. The front book cover was pulled off but it still caught my eye with the spine reading the “The Goebbels Diaries” published in 1948 covering actual entries from him from 1942 – 1943.
I couldn’t put it down and had to finish reading it in two days because the cabin proprietor wouldn’t sell it to me. It was incredibly interesting and I found Goebbles extremely articulate, lucid and honest when describing events of the day with one huge exception. The “Jewish Question”, as you might expect; the hatred was extreme.
The rest of the events concerning the Allies, Axis alliance, international propaganda practiced by all nations, the fear of US Industry, etc genuinely seemed to honest.
Has anyone else read this book? If so, what were your thoughts?
I hear the missing volumes from 1944-45 were discovered in Russia and have been published. Does anyone know anything about them?
