Hi Guys,

Over the years we have produced many, many figures for our “Remember The Alamo” series and I look forward to producing many more in the future.

One collector “rekp” is disappointed with the latest release...Allow me to explain.

For almost 10 years K&C has owned “Kings X” in San Antonio. Our store is right in the very heart of this historic city just a few yards away from the Alamo itself.

Every year we welcome many thousands of visitors and tourists through our doors. Of course they love our huge Alamo diorama in the centre of the shop and they marvel at the hundreds of soldiers fighting on it. They also want to buy a souvenir of their visit and they like the idea of a figure or a small group of figures that tell part of the Alamo’s dramatic story.

The vast majority (99%) are not dedicated toy soldier enthusiasts as we are...For most of these folks the price of a skillfully painted miniature is simply too much...and often they leave the story disappointed...and empty handed.

Talking to the “Kings X“ team they have been requesting for years a simpler product line that could meet the needs and requirements of the casual visitor and tourist. And this is it...all-metal, small group sets, simpler painting and at a very affordable price!

Let me assure “rekp” that these small sets are not replacing our existing RTA range...They are simply an addition to the series.

Later in the year K&C will be releasing more “defenders” and some brand-new “personalities”. Look out for them.

Many thanks for your continued interest and...happy collecting!

I like these figures with the simpler painting, less expensive and still metal. Hopefully we'll see some marching and at attention Mexicans. I would like to see these type figures in the Napoleonic range too.

Me too :)

It would be great to be able to have a reasonable priced firing line to compliment the existing figures, so lets hope that these Mexicans area success, and the method can be replicated to an earlier period.

The Alamo series is actually one of the best ranges from K and C.
Does not seem to get as much press as some of the other ranges.
Glad to hear there will be more additions later

If the figures announced yesterday are meant for visitors and not part of the regular RTA product line or range, why were these not given a separate designation such as the KnC Sherman. That way confusion, present and future, will be averted.

I totally agree with your comment regarding the Napoleonic ranges. These cheaper versions would be great for filling out an infantry square or a marching column.

These new Alamo figures seem to be a very good solution to the casual customer that visits the Alamo itself and pops in KingsX and can acquire
these at the lower price point. Seems the shop in San Antonio should do well with these. Looking forward on how this line evolves.
