Any 1/6th collectors on here?

Recently picked up the 21st Century Sahara Jeep and have since set about converting it into a modified British Airborne jeep.

The seats were smashed up, a tyre was broken off the axel, windshield wiper broken, and paint job was a sandy grey.

Painted it OD green and may give it a mickey mouse coating.

Fixed seats.

Removed handles, jerry can holder, windshield, cover and attachments for cover, 30. Cal mg pole, tool carriers,

Attached the tools to front bumper with straps cut from 1/6th British webbing.

Moved jerry can holder to between seats.

Moved spare wheel to front of jeep.

Next steps: mark up as unit. Most likely 7 KOSB!

The closest I've gotten to collecting 1/6 figures is to think occasionally about retrieving my old GI Joe's from my parents' attic and kitbashing them into figures from the periods I collect. I do also enjoy seeing the figures offered by Dragon and other makers. And I enjoy seeing the work that some modelers and painters have done with figures in that scale. But I haven't yet taken the plunge.

I've always thought that my GI Joes with life-like hair and beard would make great Prussian cuirassiers from the Franco-Prussian War.

Prost!

I have to say that the "Kelly's Heroes" figures almost got me to take the plunge, too.

Toy Soldier & Model Figure used to have a feature showcasing new 1/6 figures in every issue, but I can't recall now if they still do. I always enjoyed seeing the quality of figures that are available.

Prost!

Theses are sad days if your a 1/6 WWII collector. Dragon hasn't produced a new figure is over four years. Soldier Story hasn't released one in over a year, and DiD is down to one or two WWII releases a year if you lucky. For some reason the chinese think that modern figures are hot, but if they polled dealers and collectors they may realize the mistake they are making. The hot hottest figures now are science fiction and comic book characters. The other problem is the manufacturers are pricing themselves into oblivion. After Fifteen years I am transitioning out of WWII and concentrating on the Civil War, Wild West, and Indian Wars.

Rereleasing. They were both originally out years ago. Like I said nothing new on the horizon. I'm still waiting for their Firefly tank thats was announced over two years ago.
