10th Royal Veterans Battalion

Here is a figure that we have been working on for some time now. I asked a good friend of mine, Rick Simmons, to pose for this figure in his beautifully hand made reproduction uniform last year so we could get the right look to the period equipment. Even the knapsack is a hand sewn reproduction of a British Napoleonic one currently in a Swedish Museum. The 10th Royal Veteran Battalion was made up of older soldiers that were considered unfit for regular service but could man the far flung outposts in Canada before the War of 1812. One of the incentives offered to the men was the promise of land when they finished their service, but in a cruel turn of events they found themselves deployed for campaigning on the frontier at the outbreak of war, participating the the capture of Fort Mackinaw and the Battle of the River Raison in Michigan. Our figure duplicates the details of a British soldier from this unit as he might have looked dressed for service, including haversack and wooden canteen. We took extra time to duplicate our model’s likeness and I think comes through with the finished figure. This figure should be in-stock by early January.

Outstanding! I can't wait to add this to my collection. Any more War of 1812 figures in the pipeline for 2025?

You know it is my favorite period of military clothing in North America…but with that said few really understand it as it is rather regional. My Achilles heel is that I grew up in Michigan and have family in Canada. But… I do have a couple other figures already sculpted that may just be added to the period…

Awesome to see Britains is dipping their toes back into the War of 1812 time period. Their newest figures have superb quality, and I would love to see what other conflicts they cover.
