Hi, all! Here's a puzzle for the Treefrog Irregulars...
This is not in my collection, but rather, I saw it up for auction on eBay. The seller labeled it, "4th Dragoon", but that's not correct, by any stretch. White facings, white saddle blanket with blue lace suggest the 17th Light Dragoons after 1766. It looks like the rider and saddle are cast like a single piece, though it's impossible to tell without seeing the casting. I don't think it's an Imrie-Risley British light dragoon casting. For one thing, the saddle blanket is squared off, and the I/R saddle blankets are cast with the taper the blankets should have. I don't think I/R offers a right arm holding the saber in that exact pose, either. The horse is definitely not an I/R horse, either, and it looks like it might even be plastic. The way the tail is molded suggests that to me.
So--does this look familiar to anyone? Is it a kit or a commercially-finished piece? Is it a kit-bash of a metal figure and plastic horse, or, is it all plastic? Can you identify the manufacturer?
Thanks in advance, and good luck!
Prost!
