Funny! "La Force de l'habitude" means something like "To be so used to do something".
Caran d'Ache was one the most famous French caricaturists of the 19th century. Caran d'Ache means literrally Pencil in Russian (I remember this from my 5 years of Russian). Interestingly enough Emmanuel Poiré a.k.a. Caran d'Ache was born in Moscow hence the nickname. More interesting is that his grand-father was a French officer who fought at Borodino and stayed in Russia after being wounded.
