Dressed in the ubiquitous sailor suits so popular at the time these two boys - probably brothers - were none the less posed with what may have been their favorite toys, a group of nine wooden toy soldiers which from their look probably represented members of a Gaurds regiment. Since the photgraph was taken in Plymouth, a major English naval port it is possible their father was a member of the British Royal Navy.

I thought we could all identify with that moment in our lives when we played with our first toy soldiers.
