One of the early WB Durbar releases was the mounted figure of Lord Kitchener. Here is a photo taken during the 1903 Delhi Durbar by Samuel Bourne showing Kitchener waiting at the railway station for the arrival of the Viceroy. It reminds me of a scene from the early portion of David Lean's film A Passage to India based upon the 1924 novel by E.M. Forster. Some of this would make a great vignette for the Durbar series. I love the 2 government officials on the right with their frock coats and topees--so very British Raj!

Great Photo Randy I also have a copy of it.

Love seeing the members of Kitchener's Staff as well in the photo. The gent in the Guards Uniform is a Major and also a Lord and the Officer in the Indian Army Uniform is the Future Field Marshal Lord Birdwell. All of Lord Kitchener's Staff did very well in the future with nearly all of them reaching General Officer.

Yes a little bit of inspiration there Randy for some future releases. The Durbar series needs a shot in the arm, at the moment only the 2 buildings for release in Sept to look forward to. Cheers, Robin.
