1988 Btitains piper, anything unusual about this one? (1 Viewer)

I found this Black Watch piper in a charity shop today, nothing unusual, just the basic figure as standard - however, he is mounted on a plastic plinth, I haven't seen one like this before. I just want to make sure he is not some special edition. (Harrods? Hamleys? Anyone got any ideas?

I think that is how they came once upon a time, the base was part of the packaging with a clear plastic sleeve.

OK thanks for that, I hate to admit it, but I have never seen one with a base. Thanks for clearing that up so quickly.
